My mom had booked a flight to NYC for two on Pan American Airlines back in 1985. We left Miami on a beautiful clear morning. The flight was great and the service was exceptional. When descending into La Guardia there was heavy fog. I was looking forward to seeing NYC from the plane but it didn't happen.
The fog was so heavy that by the time I saw land we were landing already.
Everyone on the plane was freaking out because you could not see anything when looking out the window. Has anyone had this experience?
Obsessed is just a word the lazy use to describe the dedicated.

Yes, I've been on many flights where the fog is so heavy that when you can finally see, you are minutes from touchdown. This has happened to me at LGA, EWR, and MSP.

Yes, I have experienced several heavy fog landings. The heavy fog landing in ATL at night -- very, very low ceiling & thick fog -- is my experience I remember most.
Quoting Oldman55 (Reply 2): more like a civil aviation question.
The trip report is there, very short one. The question is more of Polls/Preference question.
