Hello All,

Delta has finally opened up a Crown Room Club in Concourse C which house the Delta Connection gates. I remember seeing signs announcing it was coming in 1999 and perhaps even before that. Well it has finally arrived and isn't half bad. I had some spare time at ATL yesterday (my wife announced she would be dropping me off at 3PM for a 7:30PM flight) so I stopped by and took a couple of pics. IIRC this space used to be a club for Eastern when they used Concourse C. The decor looks a lot like the new CRCs up in BOS and you could still smell the newness in the air.

Main entrance. Just to the left out of the picture is a little waterwall gurgling in the background. You can take the elevator or stairs to reach the club.

Front desk on the second level.

Front desk but looking over towards the heads.

They've installed comfy bench seats with the table built into the wall to hold drinks and such. Power ports right there on the wall as well for your laptop.

Looking back along the wall towards the main entrance area with bench seating.

The main seating area with regular seats and views towards the B Concourse.

The standard bar for drinks and such. Flat screen TV above the bar tuned to the PGA event in Houston.

Scattered throughout the club are pieces of artwork. Not all my cup of tea but still nice to have.

View out over the DC ramp and looking towards Concourse D. BTW, I missed it somewhere but when did D go away from mainline and become a DC concourse?

Not really part of the club but there is an underground walkway by C28 IIRC that connects the C and B concourses? IIRC this was there for Eastern connections so passengers didn't have to go all the way down to The Spine for the train or walkway.

I just realized the picture of the ramp is looking towards B and not D. In the last caption I'm not asking a question about the walkway as I have used it many times and know it connects the two concourses.

That bench seating is not to my taste, but I'll probably never go into that lounge so who am I to judge...  tongue  Looks nice though!

It's missing the brown carpet with the swirly things in it and the blue chairs. You know what I'm talking about. The nice thing is that is wasn't very crowded even for a Sunday afternoon/early evening.

I'll try to snap some pics of the other ones when I visit them. If I get dumped at the airport again by my wife 4 hours in advance of my flight I could hit all of them. Based on the time I've spent in them I would rank them this way at ATL (worst to best.) I didn't rank the BizElite lounge out in E Concourse as not everyone has access to it. Based on my previous visits to it though I didn't think it was all that great compared to other CRCs.

1. T7 (just nice overall, quiet, good views, and a putting green)
2. C26 (the newness is great and still undiscovered)
3. A Centerpoint (not open on Sunday but has always been a good club for roominess)
4. A17 (Not a bad club but always crowded)
5. E CRC (not too bad but not much in the way of views)
6. B10 (overcrowded and showing its age)
7. B25 (too small, crowded, and getting pretty rundown)

I could have the B Concourse ones mixed up. Whichever one is only one level is the worse one. On the rare occaision I find myself in B for a flight and on that end I usually don't even bother to go there.

Sorry to bump this up, just been spending plenty of time this week in ATL Crown Rooms (kinda sad when on Saturday you go to the A17 desk worker, I'll see you tomorrow night, and then you come in the next night and he actually remembers).

Anyway, B10 and B25 are mixed up (B10 is the absolute worst club ever, B25 beats it by a mile); B10 is getting renovated, alas, not much can be done about the size. Nonetheless, give me A Centerpoint any day (please make this a 7-day-a-week lounge...please!) and B25 wasn't awful when I was up there the other day - a little crowded, but not awful. I haven't been to T, C or E yet (all my flights were in A/B, and I was with a friend last night, and didn't want to take her along on the joys of club-hopping), but A-Centerpoint, A17, B25 and B10 are the tops in my order so far.
