Well i take an annual trip to Benidorm each year, and seeing as ive just registered, i think trip reports could do with some more charters on. The pictures may not be so good as im only an amature photographer and do it for my own amusement, not really for show.
So take it easy on me as i prepare to post my first ever trip report.
First Choice Airways
Manchester Ringway Intl (EGCC) To Alicante El Altet (LEAL)
Flight Time 2hrs 17mins
Alternate: Valencia (LEVC)
Runway in Use: Manchester Dep (24L) Alicante Arrival (10)
Flight Level- FL350
Getting up at an unholy hour of the morning is no fun, although generally most (including me) see it as an integeral part to the start of your holiday. Yet something, even now forbids me to get to sleep and an urge as the mind races about a flight with excitement makes me unable to get some good old shuteye and i spend the night on the internet, clock watching until its time to leave for the taxi.
Taxi is booked for 03:00 and arrives early at 02:45 (i was halfway through my can of beer at the time, stupid taxi drivers! always come late when you want to go somewhere with urgency, but when you dont want to go early and have either a can of ale half drunk in your hand, a cigarette or something important? they always turn up early.
After around 1hr 15mins on the M62, we pull up at the familiar sight of Manchesters Terminal 2 (With the traditional joke about the 'sicky carpet' as the colours make you want to vomit after a while.)
Check in was already open and we managed to be the first to check in. Proceeding through security, after several questions about my airband scanner, and what my intentions were to do with it, thus i replied "i thought id try watch the telly on it, failing that i suppose i could try tuning into air traffic control".
Taking pictures wasnt really a practice i could do, as due to the late hour it was suprisingly dark!, so i just watched the long hauls come in at around 5am and waited for the gate to come up, as well as consuming some more alcoholic beverages.
Boarding time came and off we went, gate 213, stood there, a 757!!! Superb!! its my favourite aircraft, and i love nothing more than to hear the whine of the RB211's on takeoff around row 11-14. Sat in my seat, i decided to take some pictures as we pushed back.
Passing the Jet2's (How i love this airline, they have made something fantastic out of what was thought to have been a failure, and working at LS's home (Leeds Airport) its not an uncommon sight)
Waiting for the aircraft on 24L to move out of our way
Rotation, climbing out from Manchester, next stop - Alicante!
Cruise was uneventful, and i fell asleep for most of it, plus it was cloudy nearly all the way down anyway so i just decided to leave it.
Well the time came upon us, the descent into a wet and cloudy Alicante (Fantastic! i thought id come away from england to escape all that? I thought a drink or two soon solve it. I have always loved landing better than taking off for some reason, the feeling when chopping through the clouds to me is amazing, and gives a real feeling for speed.
Descent into Alicante
Finals for runway 10, established on the ILS
Seconds before touchdown
And we are down! i wondered if we actually landed or were shot down judging by the landing, good job we have a solid gear!
Vacated runway 10
The ThomsonFly liveried aircraft had flew in from my home airport (Leeds Bradford EGNM/LBA)
BA A320 preparing to go back to London Gatwick LGW
Little follow me car guiding us to what was our end gate on the picture.
As i was packing my bag to get off the aircraft i didnt manage to get any pics of us on stand, so ill have to leave it there im afraid.
All in all, it was a good flight down, FCA continue to impress me. I do have a couple of other trip reports i can post from other airlines if people would want to read them, plus ive got MAN-PMI with FCA to fly in July, and then MAN-TFN with ThomsonFly in January.
Comments are welcome, i hope you enjoyed reading it as i did trying to type it and make it an interesting read for you.

Nice report with many good photos! I'll be flying to ALC in December from MAN so it was nice to read your report. Spain can be a bit unpredictable (weather wise) in April/May, what was the weather like for the rest of your stay?

Quoting Lentini2001 (Reply 8): I usually get asked about my scanner at the American airports, never been asked about it in the UK, unless its something new they are picking up on this year, haven't flown yet in 2006.
Yeah well, some dont bother me and some do, like i was told several times not to use my camera airside for security reasons, yet when im out on the ramp passengers are there taking photos and nobody bothers them...FAVOURITISM!!
sods law i guess.
When were you over here? I live in Benidorm now, and work at ALC on Saturdays. If anyone is flying into ALC at anytime, let me know and I´ll see if we can arrange to meet up for a ´mini-meet´ Good report by the way.
