I present My first ever A-Net Trip report. "or any trip report for that matter"
I Welcome Feedback.
I had 5 days off from work and decided to take a short trip to LA so my wife Could go to Disney as she had never been there.
Outbound SLC-LBG Date22 June 2006 Airline/FlightB6 / 233 Seat/Class 13E 13F /JB class I guess Departure 16:08 MDT Arrival 16:36 PDT
We arrived at SLC about an hour before the flight, as we only had carry on baggage we breezed through security and made our way to the Gate.
after about an hour I was presented with this N528JB
which would be my Chariot to the LA area.
As this was my first trip on B6 I was very Impressed with the Nice Seats , great pitch 34" in 13F not to mention the ample entertainment.
After Push back we headed towards the runway and then we were off
About 20 Minutes into the Flight the First Class Meal services began
and I had to snap a photo of the great snacks presented to me.
after watching a bit of TV I switched over to the Flight map
and we were almost there. We had a smooth Flight and about 30 seconds from touchdown I took another shot.
Then a couple more.
Then it was off to the Hotel which I wont go into but it was a Ramada and it really left a lot to be desired.
23 June 06
After a decent nights sleep it was off to see the Queen Mary In Long Beach
After which only a mile Away I Visited Jessie James West Coast Choppers Shop
and bought a beanie.
24 June 06
this is the Day My wife was waiting for . 47 years old and never a trip to
the Magic Kingdom.
Turns out this was also the day the the new Pirates movie was going to have its World Premier and the place was a zoo.
The Good news was that the park opened at 6:30AM and when we got there we where able to Ride every major ride in Disneyland before 11AM
They had the lake closed off and bleachers set up for the premier
We then went over to the California Adventure Side.
and spent a few hours there and where able to Ride Everything in that time.
25 June 06
Now A trip to the LA area would not be complete with out a bit of spotting at LAX so I made my way to Imperial hill ,a little Qantas action going on.
Then it was off to Spotting Mecca at LAX
26 June 06
Sadly It was time to get to LGB For the return Flight Return LGB-SLC Date26 June 2006 Airline/FlightB6 / 232 Seats 15A/15B Departure 12:23 PDT Arrival 14:46 MDT
our Chariot Awaits
Not may still shots on the return leg as i worked on the video on this leg.
What a treat!
Able to watch Live World Cup Football at 33000 Feet
Using the same camera as all the still shots I decided to try a little Video shot
which I hope you enjoy.

Thanks for the Encouraging words. I did not jump into this report blindly. as I had read probably 1/2 of the Tr's on A-net. One thing I will do in the future. is keep notes. So I have something other then my memory to fall back on when trying to write,

Good report and cool pics...only now I'm hungry for In-N-Out!
(The nearest one is only 2000 miles away ...but every time I wear one of my In-N-Out T-shirts, fellow former Californians come up to me and introduce themselves, and some of them are cute

Same with me!! Though I'm not a former Californian, a lot of people who used to live there or who have been there will always stop and talk.
Most of the In-N-Outs are in California, though I believe there's one in NC. That's about 750 miles from me...not too bad, but I have another popular burger joint just a mile from my home (All American - very popular on Long Island). Granted, it doesn't have the amazing views of the flight activity of the In-N-Out at LAX.

Great trip report! I see you had the Chocolate Chunk Cookie. My favorite onboard JetBlue snack.

No, there isn't. The only In-N-Outs are in California, Arizona, and Nevada.

Great report! Glad to hear you had a great time riding on JetBlue. I always tell customers to book seats behind the exit row, if not in the exit row, because of the increased seating pitch.

Quoting Flynlr (Reply 12): wondering why the plane cant have same pitch with the exception of the exit rows?
I know the back has more because we use to have 27 rows and 162 seats. We took a row out and slid the read half of the seats back. I'm assuming that we can't move the front half back because that would put the seats in the exit rows out of alignment with the doors. We could slide row 1 forward but that would leave the bulkhead customers licking their knee caps and put them in an akward position. So that is why, i'm assuming, we have more room in the back half of the aircraft.

Great Report! I also love that In-n-Out Burger on Sepulveda for spotting the 10am-12 noon is great for all those Asian carriers coming in from the Far East. Its great walking down Sepulveda from our hotel and having those heavies fly right overhead!

Welcome to A.net! Great beginning - your trip report shows lots of thought and consideration. I watched the video - very well done, my man. Now, you're just going to have to travel more and write more trip reports. And, to keep peace and harmony at home, please take your wife along! You'll both have a lot of fun discovering travel/flying, etc.

I did have my wife on this trip. just didn't post any pics of myself or her. trying to keep the subject to the basics of Trip reporting.
and thanks for the kind words. I have learned that there are many areas that could be improved upon on future reports and you can bet they will be posted in this forum for all to enjoy.

Great report buddy! I loved the video, always good to see a 34R arrival from something other than a lawn dart Do you have any idea what altitude you were cruising at over St. George, or when the ride started to get bumpy (was that during the descent)? On my recent SEA-SLC we jumped up to 41,000 to avoid some big clouds. (that was in a 737, are A320s not rated that high I wonder? or was it just really tall clouds? hmm...)
Do you have any idea what that flaming red DC-9 - ish thing on (what I think is) the Cargo ramp is? The only thing I can think of that would even match what I see there is an NW 727 or a DC-9 painted like Wunala Dreaming - and those are definitely ruled out
Also, about Disneyland...isn't that place always a zoo?
PS - trying to keep all the SLC people straight...are you the one that works on the ANG ramp? Or is that somebody else...

Yep Im the ANG guy. Really have to get with the rest of you folks soon.
ST George was at 34K actually the whole cruise was at that altitude.
The flaming red jet?? I caught this pic on the way to LGB didnt post it but i think this is the one or similar to the one you saw on the landing Video. Probably a lighting issue. this is the same ramp and location on the landing vid.

Yeah that's it. Boy do I feel stupid... For some reason that DHL paint looked flaming red...maybe it's cause it was very early in the morning when I watched the video

Ahh, All American in Massapequa...only ate there a few times but it is delicious! White Castle is my true craving for burgers here on L.I., however In-N-Out is the best! What a small world it is...
