I wanted to get to ZRH and from LGW it's not too easy now EZY have dropped the route so I decided to look at other options so when looking around the web for some deals I checked out AB's website, I havent flown them before and STN is 100 miles from me but anything for a good deal  Wink

I found STN-TXL for £1, TXL-ZRH for €1, ZRH-DUS for €1 and DUS-STN for €1 so excluding the tax all for sectors equal about £3.

We checked in for our morning flight to TXL about 90 mins before departure and were allocated 17A/17C so it was to be my first Fokker flight  Smile We boarded and I was greeted by two lovely AB stewardesses with a basket of sweets and newspapers and then the nice leather seats, very good first impression!

We pushed back on-time and departed STN's runway 05 on a nice sunny morning, the F100 is a noisy old thing, especially being at the back of course!

The leg room and seat comfort was excellent and the free ham sandwich and coffee was very well recieved, a pretty uneventful flight all-in-all with about a 60% load factor, flight time was around 1h 30m and we arrived on-time into a clear, sunny and hot Berlin.

Time for flight #2! Having spent an enjoyable say in Berlin we boarded our brand new A320 bound for ZRH. The aircraft was so new and I am not a huge 319/320 fan but the cabin was amazing, pale leather seats and very light/bright, nice drop-down tv screens with lots of info from our speed, altitude, route, duration of flight remaining and even a cool map showing where were were in relation to the ground, very good to pass the time on this short flight. Once again free sandwich and drink and a smooth uneventful flight landing on-time on runway 14 at ZRH on a sunny evening, 28 degrees at 8pm.

Load factor was about 80%

ZRH-DUS

Flight #3 of 4 and after 2 days in ZRH we are headed for DUS, this was mainly because it was the cheapest way to get back to STN for us from ZRH on AB but also gave an afternoon at DUS too. Having enjoyed lovely weather in ZRH we woke on this morning to a wet scene so I was pleased we were leaving! Departed ZRH on time, lovely blue leather seats and the best leg room yet! I think this aircraft was ex-Independence Air. Once more ham or cheese sandwich and drink served by the well turned out and ever immaculate AB stewardesses and we arrived at a cloudy yet dry DUS.

Load factor about 90%

DUS-STN

Flight #4 and a boeing! I havent flown a boeing for ages so I was pleased to to see the 737-700/w at the gate. Once more we boarded, greeted with a smile and took our seats, no leather seats this time but comfy all the same and good leg room, departed ontime off runway 23L for our 45 minute trip to STN, arriving 25 minutes early onto runwway 23 at STN. Load factor of about 80%

Sorry the report is not too large or detailed but with AB everything just seemed to work! All 4 flights on time, welcoming stewardesses with sweets, newspapers and a smile on each flight, excellent comfort and leg room, free snack and drink served by polite and well turned out crew and overall an excellent airline. I was pleased to have flown AB and to get 4 sectors for only £3 was amazing considering the service I received, also flying an F100/A320/A319/737-700w was also nice.

I would definately fly AB again without hesitation and I like the seat allocation used by the airline, not a big issue but I do not enjoy free seating personally!

Cheers

Ben

Yes! Small report, but well received. It's just AB. And we share the same opinions about them it seems. You've been on their newest A320, hence the wonderful cabin I think...  Smile

Thanks for this short report. Wow, you managed to have four flights on AB on four different types, and not a single B737-800, which is still the biggest part of their fleet. You were lucly to fly on AB's newest A320, which was I think less than a week old when you flew it.

Regards, Alex.

Lucky fellow, 4 flights with AB and 4 different planes and as Alex said, not a 738 at all!

Amazing!
