Hi this is one of my first trip reports so don`t rate it so bad.
I flew 14 days ago from VIE to FRA to JFK to IAD . Then I flew to PBI then JFK and then on the 22 of JULY I flew back home to Vienna.
In New York I stayed in the Ritz-Carlton Central Park, I think it is the best hotel of New York.
I arranged a transfer to the airport for 2`O Clock cause I love this Limousine Cadillacs. After 40 minutes we arrived. It took us so long because the highway had been closed for the whole day..
JFK-FRA
LH 401
22 July
Gate 007
Boarding time: 15:50
Seat 2k
Class: First
Plane: A340-300
There I checked in at such a nice attendant, she wanted to do everything perfect. It take 15 minutes because she looked for a ticket folder.
Then I went directly to the lounge which is located outside, before the security controls. I don`t like that but they say you when is time to go.
The Senatorlounge is quite nice I think
The architecture
A snackbar is located right but at this time there was nothing.
There is also a little "restaurant", so you are able to eat and then you are able to sleep during the whole flight.
The view out of the lounge is quite good. I saw a Turkish Airlines A 340-300
After I took several photos, there was the announcement that all passengers for the flight LH 401 should go to the gate. The security controls took so long.Of course there was a separated row for First and Business but also for Star Alliance Gold, for other premium economy's and and and.I thought it was rush hour because two air France boarded one Turkish and my Lufthansa but there were only two lines open. Two lines for all international flights in Terminal 1. What a mess.
After some times I got through and I boarded. And I remarked that First class was fully booked.
I stowed my hand luggage in the overhead bins
and then there was my seat for about 7 hours:
The backrest:
My view on the left side:
My view on the right side:
We took off from runway 7 I think.
What I like more at the B747 FirstLH you are more separated you know, in the A 340 the BC is directly behind you and in the B747 you are like in your own jet
After we arrived our travel altitude which was about 11.000 metres the handed us amenity kits, pyjamas and slippers out.
The amenity kit:
Then they handed us the menus out but I can`t remember . I only know that I took.
At first they gave us a Amuse Bouch, then they made every table ready. The Amuse Bouch tasted really good.
They put a rose in the chair which is so cool. You are not feeling like eating in a plane, you are feeling like dining in a restaurant.
They set the table up:
As starter i took the Caviar with traditional garnishes:
They are very good because I got twice caviar, then I got a salad:
During dining I watched the movie in "Dozen Cheaper II"
Because there were the old LH bc seats in First there were the old video tapes. It is not so bad but the touchscreens in new first are really better.
the monitor
Then I took the Steak which was really good.
Sorry but the dessert and the pralines were so good that there was no time to take a photo.
After dining I decided to take a nap.But I wasn't´t bale to sleep and so I ordered the best tea they have the Royal Second Flush Tea, the champagne of teas, how they write.
After the tea I fall in my bed:
I had slept about two hours, then was breakfast. There was a choice between: The American Breakfast, The Fitness Breakfast, and the Vitality Breakfast. I took the Fitness Breakfast because I wasn´t so hungry.
It contains fruits , muesli orangejuice and teaor coffee.
It was very good. After breakfast we descended. It looks great the sunrise in the firstclass. The photo shows not this beauty I saw but better than nothing.
my last view on my seat
The landing was very smooth. We connected at Gate C4. I asked the purser how I would be able going to the firstclass terminal. She didn´t know and asked the ground staff which was very nice. I had to go outside to a Firstclass Checkin and ask there. So I went to the firstclasscheck in and they arranged a transfer to the firstclass terminal. A luxurious Mercedesvan picked me up and brought me to the firstclass terminal. It is so cool and fascinating and wow. It´s super.
There was a seperate securitycontrol in the terminal because I had had to go outside I had to go through again. But it was so comfortable, mmyy personal attendant took my tickets to Vienna and said she would pick me up for boarding at time.
My connecting flight to Vienna boarded at 11:30 and it was 7´O clock.
There is a restaurant:
a bar:
my seat:
Then I decided to take shower in this luxurious bathroom. You get slippers bathrobes and everything you want.
It is soooo great. They have Etro shampoos and everything.
The toilets are seperated, you understand I mean the toilets to stand. Every standtoilet is in a seperate room.
In the Terminal there are also some sleeping rooms with leather daybeds:
At 11:30 my attendant came to bring me downstairs to my car which should bring me to my plane.
Before I left I got my boarding pass and said goodbye.
There is my car to the next flight OS 122
Class Business C
Date 23 July
Seat 2D
Gate A38
Plane: A320
It is so cool we drove under a A340 and I looked out of the headwindow the Plane was directly above me . In a Mercedes S Class you are much more near than in the bus. We went directly into the boardingbridge and boarded.
The plan started in time and we took off at runway , I don´t know the number but I know it is directly south.
We got somethinh to eat I think it was Vienna escalope and potato salad.
The landing in Vienna was very smooth and we taxied to our gate C 54.
This is the end of my journey and I hope it was a information and a nice entertainment for some minutes. If you want to see the other flights also you only have to ask.

Nice report! I've recently booked my parents a trip down to CPT in LH F on the A340 also with a stopover in the FCT so it is interesting to read a report with plenty of pictures.

Everyone in LH F gets HON tags.
Quoting ChrisH (Reply 5): What do the letters HON mean?

Excellent report! Lufthansa First on the A340 looks amazing. I flew LH Business Class on the A343 a few years ago, and I was in the second row behind the First Class cabin. The food looks terrific.

Wonderful report. Greatly enjoyed. If Fraser says "Good job." it makes for a report well done. And I agree totally.
Today the 31 July I have 99346 miles on my account. I am FTL since 2003. Only if you are interested in. And if you are intersted in my age I am 13 and a half.

Tja, manche Leute haben es gut!
Seriously, this was a very nice report. You documented your experience very well, though how you fell asleep after all that tea I'll never understand.
