Hey guys! I just landed in Savannah. I Flew AirTran from Atlanta.
My family owns a condo in Hilton Head and every now and then, we fly down here instead of drive. Last time I flew, I was on a 717 (very nice). This time I was on a DC-9.
I had to ride alone with my sibilings (no upgrade). It was their first flight and they were fasinated.
The service was great! I was the last one on the plane (lost track of time, spotting) and there was a lady in my seat and the flight attendant was very nice about getting her to move. The pilots let me in the cockpit before and after the flight. I left my camera with the first officer and he took some pictures for me in flight.
It seemed as if we had just got up there when we had to start coming down. The flight was way too short and I wouldn't have minded staying on there a few more hours.
In Atlanta, I got to watch an awesome 744 (South African) landing. As you know, 747s are very rare in Atlanta and I was very excited. Some gay (no offense to anyone) ticket guy says, "So, you like the South African plane". haha, umm....
It was my first DC-9 flight and I though it was going to be really crappy. Everything was great though! The plane looked new. The seats were in great condition and the plane didn't stink or anything like that.
It was an overall GREAT trip, AirTran is wonderful!

Yea, isn't SAV a nice airport? LOL. I flew into SAV last December on Atlantic Coast Airlines/United Express from IAD. My returning flight, the same day,was over 2 hours late cause of bad weather at IAD and the terminal at SAV was almost deserted with stranded passengers but the airline CSRs were singing Xmas carols on the mike. Pretty cool. I enjoyed it. Gotta love flying non-rev on ACA.
The first flight from IAD-SAV (morning) was half full, but the second flight from SAV-IAD (night) was empty, around 7 passengers total. Now that's easy non-revving.
