Well to start, I arrived at MTY about 2 hours before departure. The line for the check in was not to long, since it was an American Eagle flight. About 40 minutes after arriving at the airport I was already having breakfast at the Wings restaurant in the terminal. The beautiful thing about the restaurant is that you are in ground level, so it is also a nice place to sit down and spot a few airplanes.

First Flight

American Eagle flight # 3804
June 15th 2006
MTY-DFW
Scheduled departure time: 11:27
Actual departure time: 11:33
Scheduled arrival time: 12:50
Actual arrival time: 12:56
Embraer ERJ-145
Load: 98%

After breakfast, boarding started. We got to the bus that takes you to where the plane is parked. We had to wait a little while because of an AM MD-87 that was pushing back. I was happy to see the Embraer. After we got out of the bus, the flight attendant was already waiting for us. The flight was very calm; our cruising altitude was FL360. Mid flight the beverage service started, when I go to the US I always enjoy a good Dr. Pepper so that was what I ordered, and since I was the only one on that flight to order one I got the entire can. We arrived at DFW on time but deplaning started about 5 minutes after we parked. We arrived at terminal D.

I had already been to terminal D and it has always been to my surprise a quite nice and enjoyable terminal. The only thing was that our flight to LAX was departing from terminal C. But with the skylink, it is quite easy to change terminals.

I was a bit hungry so I went to the food area in terminal C. While I was walking to get a magazine for the flight I saw an AA757 with winglets. To my surprise it was parked at my gate! It actually ended up being the plane for my flight.

Second Flight

American Airlines Flight # 2453
June 15th 2006
DFW-LAX
Scheduled departure time: 15:32
Actual departure time: 11:33
Scheduled arrival time: 16:25
Actual arrival time: 16:36
Boeing 757-200 (winglets)
Load: 100%

Boarding was usual, always a bit slow. I always try to get a view of the flight deck before the flight. On this flight I did get my visit, the flight crew was not rude at all. They did give me a brief explanation on what the winglets were exactly for. About 15 minutes after boarding started I was already seating in my 23A seat.

Not the best quality, but a picture of the flight deck.

I slept about half of the way, and when I woke up I was amazed at how great the winglets looked at mid-flight. For 3 bucks I had a snack box. I knew that after we land I would have to wait a while to get an opportunity to eat something.

The captain announced that we were starting our approach to LAX about 100 miles out. About 15-20 minutes after he said that we landed. Terminal 4 was pretty much what I expected. In the end AA has never disappointed me.

This is Part I of my summer trip.
Part II will be TZ LAX-HNL round trip.
Part III LAX-DFW-MTY.
Keep in mind that this is my first trip report.
Thanks.

So far so good....loved the lav pic. The toilet bowl sort of summarizes MY last trip on AA. Looking forward to your HNL trip. Was there this past summer and it was great.

Great pic report so far.

Is it me, or does anyone else find the AA.com decal on the winglets tacky for a legacy carrier?
