From what I've heard, KE is better.
And one of my friends also told me that TG f/a's couldn't even speak PROPER english on a BNE flight!
How slack!
I must agree with Airnewzealand on this one

AirNewzealand: I'm not jelous at all, but I thought that one answer was a little too less, so therfor i asked again.

I compered those two airlines because I have heard that they both are exelent.

Honestly: If i should try soemthing other than TG it would have been KE.

So don't be angry, it wasn't my plan to get you angry.
So I hope you accept my apology

tg747-300,
I am deeply Sorry for jumping to Conclusions on you. Please except my Apology!!

I must admit though, TG is a very good airline. The thing was just that their FA's didnot speak that good english!!

By theway, many people have not flown KE on this forum, so not many people will answer!!

Have a great day!
Cheers

Mikey: Can I ask you which aircrafts and flights you have flown with TG and KE, and if there were any difference in legroom (I guess that both have around 34")

I can't remeber what aircraft i flew with Thai. I think it was a 777, didn't really notice. But the FA's were really nice and they handed out drinks every 20mins or so.
I flew the 777-200 and 777-300 on Korean Air, and they are the best airline i have flown. There food was really nice and their FA's talked to us alot. They all originated from Korea, but one, who came from India.

Our lead Purser on Korean Air came through the cabin and said hello to Us. He was really nice to talk to aswell. He had a Child living in NZ studying at AUT!!

Thai Int. was really good!! For the short 3.30hour flight they did their Best, but when passengers were to ask them a Question they wouldn't be able to understand. That is the one place they are lacking!!
Also when they made a PA announcement, it was really hard to understand what they were saying.

Well there ya go.

Have a great Day
Mikey

PS By the way, I really like Thai Int. Uniforms... Much better than KE's Uniforms!!

I agree with Mikey...KE is the best. I took some heat from coworkers who knew KE's safety record. Hey things happen, still felt as though KE deserved a try. I had a great time on my flights, even without a PTV. I like the fact that if you want an additional drink or need anything they literally run for it. In the U.S. you'd get laughed at as an economy passenger with such a request. I agree though, their uniforms are a bit dull. About the legroom...yeah its amazing. It almost seems as though it was more like 35". The increased legroom made me very happy considering that the last 744 I was on which was with Virgin Atlantic barely had room for legs. For someone six foot tall it was not pleasant on VS...on KE, no problem at all. The food is great also, lots of it, especially rice. I like the treats they give out such as Swiss chocolate bars. It was kinda weird though eating breakfast an hour before arriving into JFK at 5:30 PM...it was a good omellet though. Those longhaul flights really take a toll and screw up your internal clock. It took me a good two weeks to get readjusted. BTW, I made a connection at Kimpo on my way to Hong Kong. Mikey, I still never uploaded my pics...i will soon though. I want to use a better scanner than the one i have. I'll do it at my friends house. I got some cool shots looking out at the 6 foot tall winglet and also some cool approach shots into Kimpo, as well as some interior shots (including legroom shots). I felt kinda strange taking pics of the cabin but hey, I would've regretted if i didn't. FLY KE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree about the FA's running of their Feet to get what you wanted. Did you find there English really good like me??

Don't you think Kimpo is a Dump!! And did you see all of those KE planes as you landed!! Their were so many!! Also did you see all the Apartment buildings and all of the Bridges as you approached?? It was amazing to see such cool things on Approach!!

Well can't wait to see the Photos!!
Have fun

Hey Mikey, the flight attendants did speak rather good English. Only problem was when I asked to go to the cockpit for a visit and the one attendant thought i was asking for a cocktail. I rephrased it and said, Can i visit Captain Crawford? She said, "Sorry, bad for rules." I understood completely. Didn't hurt to try though. Every other FA spoke great English. They even gave me tips on how to eat bibimbap (spelling?). They seemed happy that a westerner was giving their food a try. I like the part that when they'd bring me a Coke they'd bow to me. The approach to Kimpo was really cool. On the flight from ANC-SEL we landed as it was just getting dark. I saw lots of neon lights in Seoul and also the Incheon airport all lit up (apart from runway lights). It wasn't completed yet at the time. On the flight from HKG-SEL I saw lots of apartment buildings and also kept an eye on the Asiana 744 that was trailing to the side of us. I got some excellent shots of the landing. Can't wait til I can upload them. As far as Kimpo. Very different than here in the US. First off, when leaving the airplane you walk out onto the tarmac and are basically free to run around all the other trillion KE aircraft. Nobody was watching us. Then eventually the bus came and took us to the terminal. Winter in Seoul....very cold! I was wearing a t-shirt as it was hot when leaving HK. Kimpo was rather shocking. It was dingy I agree. The duty free was nice but wow...culture shock. First thing i did was head to the restroom where a woman was cleaning the toilets among all the men using them. Very strange. I just went with it...hey i was in their country...have to respect their culture and norms. I actually liked the Korean people so much that i believe that may be my next trip. An entire stay in Seoul. Other holidays in my future include down your way to Australia and New Zealand (i'll fly Air NZ for that one...a friend of mine lives in Rotorua). Also Dubai is on my wish list. Seems as though we're the strongest supporters of KE. We gotta recruit some more patrons who can convince all the, "Korean Air is Unsafe" people that won't give up the rampant criticism of KE that this is indeed a top notch airline that is SAFE. Best part about KE...I earned over 14,000 Skymiles for my journey thanks to KE's existance in Skyteam. With that nice chunk of miles I got enough to go to Seattle Airliners show in October on a free roundtrip ticket (25,000 miles on Delta). KE is great...especially for those flying from the US to Asia--->it's very inexpensive!

Did you know that they were voted... In the world... Best airline in Economy Class, due to their Great Food, Great Cabin-Crew, Seat Comfort and Entertainment!! I am very pleased with that!! They really do deserve it!!

Hey, i also saw the Neon Lights. It was really Cool!! We flew out at 1950 for our Flight Back to NZ!! The lights looked Stunning!!

I agree, we must persuaed people to Fly Korean Air as they are a great airline!! I can remeber when you posted on this forum and you were a bit hesitant on flying them!! I can remeber i assured you they were Excellent, and you didn't really believe me at First!! LOL, Now you know what i was going on about!!

I earn't alot of miles also on the Korean Ai Skypass!! Can i use that in the Skyteam Partner ship?? It is really good how your points never expire!! That is what i love about them!!

Well Looking forward to your reply!!

Cheers

When i flew Thai not long ago the englsh that they spoke wasn't very good but they tried really hard, and i guess my accent didnt help either, But not long ago on my first Royal Brunei flight i was sitting in my seat as they started to do thier safety demo, and this bloke came on the P/A, Im sure he was that bloke Fronk from "the father of the bride". The two people sitting next to me started cracking up( so did i). But when he started to do the malay version i'm sure the person next to me pised himself.

Royal Brunei Flight attendants speak great english but over the PA you couldn't tell if they were speaking malay or english half the time, have you guys found this to be a problem on any other airline ??

Hey Mikey, I just checked the "NEW" KE website about earning and redeeming miles from Skyteam members and it says, "Earn miles toward elite status on your preferred SkyTeam airline and redeem on any member airline." I credited mine directly to my Delta account but I believe the rep at Delta said you can combine miles from all the carriers in Skyteam if you are members of their programs and earn a reward on the airline of your choice. Therefore, if i were to fly from JFK-CDG on an award ticket, i'd definitely go with Air France depsite earning my miles on my Delta account. Air France service in economy is much better than Delta's transatlantic product (US airlines aren't the best in service...safety maybe but service is something they do not know the meaning of). So sounds as though your Skypass miles can be used to redeem a ticket on Aeromexico, Delta, or any other Skyteam airline.

Anyway, can't wait to try KE once all the PTV's are installed. Wonder when a livery update is in their future? I really like their livery now but it seems as though airlines are changing them more frequently these days and KE have had theirs for quite sometime now. Hopefully they'll come up with something creative while incorporating the same colors. Let me know what Incheon Airport is like if you make it back to Seoul before I do.
