So heres a trip report on my recent trip to the Principality of Monaco to watch the Formula 1 Grand Prix and to visit friends there aswell in London.....
AY861 - A321 seat 20F
I got to the airport around 0730 for this morning departure to Zurich where I was going to change planes to Swissair to get to Nice Cote d´Azur Airport.
We took off ontime i think(?)...I was kinda very tired well we took off and shortly after we were served a warm breakfast in Y class, which consisted of a mushroom filled crêpe, two sausages and a sauteed tomatoe. It was served with warm rolls, tea, coffee, OJ, and well...full barservice if anyone wished. Atleast the men behind me seemed to enjoy a few glasses of cognac...About halfway through out the flight the duty/tax-free cart came and I decided, why not, I´ll buy some vodka...so I bought 2 0,5 bottles of Finlandia and stored it away in the same bag where i put the Möet I bough from Helsinki Airport. There was yet another drink service before we landed to Zurich.
I went to the transit check-in and checked myself in the Swissair flight to Nice at 1150.
SR???? - A320 the second last row aisle seat
The plane wasnt on a jetway so we were bussed to the plane. The flight to Nice was quite full, and the plane, well it wasnt exactly in mint condition. After everyone got seated the captain announced that there would be a "slight" delayal (i dont really consider 45 slight, but still..) Due to the very busy day at Nice Airport because of the Grand prix in Monaco the next day. We were served OJ and water while we waited on the ground for the 45 mins...I didnt take either but requested redwine instead, and got some Swiss(!) Red wine..was quite tasty none the less
We finally took off and a choise of ham or creamcheese sandwiches were served on this short 50 minute hop, along with a bar cart (gintonic and more redwine for me!)
After a smooth landing to Nice I collected my luggage and took the taxi to Monaco, where I was staying for the next week, with a friend who has residency there.
A few word about Monaco and the Grand prix - if you have more questions, please post
The Grand Prix track was clearly visible from my friends balcony so a small party happening at the balcony...all in all very noisy and very fast...but not that much to see. Had dinner with a bunch of friends and one of the F1 drivers ( a friends friend) on the night before the grand prix which was quite enjoyble. Went parting to Jimmy´z in the evening after tha gran prix was over, lots of celebs bustling about...(Naomi Cambell, Puff Daddy etc etc)
Monaco itself very pretty, kindof expensive and all in all very enjoyable - definately going back in a few months
BA???? - B767
Seat 12D - Club Europe
I got to the airport kinda late since the traffic and me waking up so late after another rough nite in Jimmy´z...checked in and got a seat in the middle ( C class with BA on intreuropean is 2-2-2) and was very happy with that since it gives the most space as they are those flexable c class seats...
Took off a bit late for the 2 hour flight to London, before takeoff they had a hot towel service, and quite soon after take off meal service commenced. No menus handed out had a choice of steak ( was ok a bit dry) or a seafood "medley"... Both were on service trays..well..foil trays, so you could see which one you wanted. Both were served on a salad bed. There was somesort of ham appetizer, and a rasberry pastry as dessert. After the meal cart came the drinks cart and had some champagne and apple juice (separately)..well that was the last time to be heard from the FA´s, excpet for the skyshop cart...later on the 2nd aisle of biz class were offered OJ and water, but my aisle got nothing....not very consistent in service I´d say...
Well landing in heathrow was kindof rough and once we all disembarked to the jetway, we only found it not to be open...so everyone had to just..well...stand there for 5 minutes and wait for someone to open the doors...
Got my bag and walked to the bus stop and took the ol´U3 to uxbridge..
BA 798 (I think) B757
Checked in and noticed i got an awfull middle seat (3-3 in Y)...well live with it i though, i then proceeded to Servisair Executive Lounge on behalf of my Diners Club card. The loubge itself was well noithing special, but did give me a chance of a having a few drinks, before the almost 3 hour flight to Helsinki.
We took off on time and were served a cold meal ; salmon, potatoe salad, chocolate brownie, and drinks...had another gintonic and a coke. Later as they were collecting the meal trays i asked if they FA could bring me another gintonic when she had time...apparently she didnt have time since i had to go and get it myslef 45minuts later when she was gossiping with the other FA in the back galley
Smooth landing , and quick immigration, and as i walked to the baggage caroulsel , my bag was already there! Very fast!

Great trip report. I think Finnair is a very nice airline among with Swissair. I think they work quite well together those both companies. I would love to see Swissair in Oneworld alliance too. Hope you enjoyed your flights. How was the race in Monaco? Which was your favourite, Kimi Raikinnen oder Mika Häkkinen (sorry if the names are writen false).
I flow also several times with Swissair and I think their service is very good if you compare with other airlines. British Airways did a lot for business passengers, they are also good as well as Finnair. You have choosen good airliens for your trip.
