Ok so my second mileage run on Swiss. Im not going to post pics of the lounges etc... as I did that in my last trip report DUB-ZRH-SKG .

FLIGHT: LX 401
DATE: 3RD FEB 2007
ROUTE: DUB-ZRH
A/C: A319
SEAT: 4A
REG: SORRY FORGOT TO TAKE IT DOWN!!!

Ok so I checked in 2 hours prior and got my boarding cards DUB-ZRH-ATH-ZRH as with last time they couldnt issue me with the ZRH-DUB. I then went to the BMI lounge for a while.

Time to board::

Some photos of Dublin Airport and A/C movements

A319 Safety card

More of Dublin Airport
A320 landing (EI)

Time for take off

VS A340 in SR Technics hanger

Dinner time !!! Very nice fillet beef.

A Easyjet A320 flying near us

After arriving I decided to go to the great viewing gallery they have in Zurich. They even have lockers to put your bags in for CHF 2 which you get back!! You pay CHF 2 entrance at the shop next to the entrance.

My first time seeing an LY 737

After an hour or so I went to the LH Star Gold Lounge before boarding the next flight.

FLIGHT: LX 1842
DATE: 3RD FEB 2007
ROUTE: ZRH-ATH
A/C: A320
SEAT: 2D
REG: HB IJS ( Just for Flieger )

The refurbishment program seems to be nearly done as the number of times I get old style seats are getting less and less.

Dinner was ''Deer meat''!! Not my usual choice but was actually nice.

Landing in Athens ''Eleftherios Venizelos''

A nice and modern terminal and very well kept even though its 5 years old it shows no sign of wear and tear. Lots of cleaners everywhere.

Olympic Airlines check in area

There is a nice museum upstairs above the check in area which houses ancient Greek pieces. A nice exibition.

Statue to ''Eleftherious Venezelos'' who ATH is named after.

Time to check in and go to the Swissport lounge.I really like this lounge. A huge range of drinks both local and international and a Nespresso coffee machine which is the best coffee in the world!!! Good snacks also. Free high speed internet PC stations also.

FLIGHT: LX 1843
DATE: 4TH FEB 2007
ROUTE: ATH-ZRH
A/C: A320
SEAT: 3A
REG: HB IJS

Time to board and head to Zurich.

An Agean Avro

After take off a sharp left turn gives a view of ATH

Breakfast was nice hot croissants and an egg dish and plenty of coffee.

Comming over the Swiss Alps ...Always an amazing sight

Nice view of Zurich

Taxing in Zurich

After arrival a quick stop in the Swiss Business lounge then off to the boarding gate .

FLIGHT: LX 400
DATE: 4TH FEB 2007
ROUTE: ZRH-DUB
A/C: A320
SEAT: 3A

A very full business class . New style seats on this AC also.

Breakfast again!!!

As we were comming into Dublin I noticed it was very foggy but didnt realise it was that bad until I suddenly felt the wheel of the A/C hit the tarmac!!! It was very thick fog.

Back home again!!!!

The trip was very good and the same good service and friendly cabin crew. I think Swiss get my vote for NO.1 European airline in Business class!!!

Every flight is consistent.

Warm welcome on board. Pre take off drink of Champagne or Juice. After take off drinks. Meal service and greeted by name. Drinks and coffee with Godiva chocolates. Hot towels.

OA, your photos are simply superb - excellent quality and there was really no need for any words!

Thanks for taking the time to post this photographic trip report - it was a real pleasure to see.

I've never flown with Swiss but hear their service is generally very professional - I will certainly make a point of flying them some time soon.

Brilliant report OA and as others have said your photos are just excellent.

I used to fly Swissair and Crossair quite a lot, but still haven't had the opportunity to try Swiss, and reading your two recent TR's really makes me want to try them.

I'm off to Switzerland in two weeks (I hope as I ahve a pretty serious middle ear infection which could prevent me from flying). I can't wait to return to Switzerland after a few years without going there. This trip will include a new airport and city for me (Mulhouse/Basel) and the city of Basel where I'll be spending a day. Then I'm off for a much need relaxing holiday with my wife and son in the Grisons area. Just hoping they get a bit more snow... even though I'm not going to ski this time as I want to spend my time with our 1 year-old son, I love lots of snow. On this trip both flights will be on AF Régional EMB145's, so no Swiss for the time being.

Looking forward to your next TR OA260.

I landed into ATH at 2345 and then left again at 0700!!! I have family in Athens so I jumped onto the express bus which is 24 hours and went to visit them for a few hours. They thought I was crazy but when I arrived with some nice gifts from Ireland they didnt think so !!! Left the house at 330am to get the 0410am bus back to ATH and checked in at 5am. Athens is a 24 hours city which is good for things like this LOL...

Yeah one of the crew said that its the time now that alot of Swiss go Skiing but that there is not much snow . Zurich has no snow at all!!!! Amazing weather , in Athens last week it was 21c!!!!

Thanks for the kind replies from eveyone. I really do appreciate it. I personally didnt think this T/R was as good as my first . But they do say nothings as good as your first LOL.....

Some really stunning in-flight pics! Thanks for posting.

I was going to ask if there was a reason that both your trips were to Greece recently, but you've already answered that one for me!

Well even if I didnt have family in Greece it was still the furthest that I could fly to get the max miles on my account so I would have done it anyway but I love any chance to get back to Greece. I prefer the SKG times with LX though as I get 6 hours in Zurich and time to go into the city.

Another great TR & photo selection, well done!

I'm begining to think you fly more than me!!

Swiss look pretty good in C class, the meals and presentation looks excellent I must say, they look better than AA Transatlantic Business meals!

Shame you missed the reg on the 319, that would drive me potty, not missed a reg since 1992!

Best Wishes

Mark

Haha well until Flieger (Markus) asked I was never into Reg's!! But now due to requests I put them in . I know its probably a hanging offence on here but I am more into the Cabin/Service/Lounges etc.... but I guess it would be boring if we all were the same LOL....I will keep posting the Reg's from now on  Smile

OA260, this was another great report. LX offered perfect service, I totally agree with you! Good pics as always, and indeed those views on the Alps are terrific!!

Some other points to know?  Wink
The VS A340 at DUB is actually Virgin Nigeria (look at the green engines)
The inflight easyJet must have been a A319, because they don't fly 320's  Wink
...and

REG: HB IJS ( Just for Flieger )

I also like to see those, just to get an better idea about the regs flying on the various routings.

I love to read your TRs.

Your pics is really great, amazing pics.

The fog was really thick in DUB, little scary.

Thank you for sharing another excellent TR.
