Well since this is going to be my first Trip report I don't know exactly how that would work, but I promise to give my best and hope you all will enjoy it. (I included a lot of pictures but something was wrong with my camera the quality wasn't normal and I didn't notice until I downloaded them so accept my apology)

An overnight trip 11 hours from JFK to Cairo, Last time I flew EgyptAir was on Jun 2005, I was so exited to see how they changed from the last time I flew them.
I was working that day and I had my luggage so I can go straight to the airport since the check in time was suppose to be around 3:15 PM, I arrived at EgyptAir Counters on Terminal 4 around 3:30 it wasn't that busy, waited for about 15 minutes and then checked on seat 31K ( it's on the right side of the plane, the plane configuration is 3-4-2), after check in you have to take your luggage to be screened; I dropped them and then went home( I live about 10 minutes from JFK) took dinner with my family and then took the air train back to the airport, went to the security around 5:30 where it took me few minutes to clear.
I walked to the gate where I found a line waiting to board the plane; I walked around a little bit where I sit down to drink some coffee and to take a look at the plane, which was SU-GBR(NEFERTARI)
My Bird waiting for me
Loading Cargo
Nice Looking Engine
Some Pictures for VS in the gates next to us
more VS
The Camera shows the front of the plane
Look at Terminal 3 while Delta is on the Push Back
More terminal 3
Just after we pushed Back
JFK Tower and T4
Wide look into remote stand, you can see Both EK A340 and B777
The other side of T3, Planes are waiting to join the line.
Just before we board the plane there was two security guys that checked my carry on, then walking on the jet way towards the plane where a female FA great me and show me which direction should I take towards my seat(The flight was Full no Empty seats unfortunately).
The push back was late about 20 minutes because there were some late passengers, short after boarding the TV start with some prayers, then the Safety video started with Arabic then English. after push back we start taxing towards 13R where I thought we will take off but a few minutes later I found out that we were just getting in line going towards 31L which took us 1 hour until we finally hold short for takeoff and then we turned to the runway and the pilot started rolling without stopping, the takeoff was smooth with a sharp left turn short after lifting from the ground.
After 30 minutes to the flight:
Altitude: 33000 Feettttt
Speed: 575mphtt
Distance to destination: 5383 Mile
Time to destination: 9:30
The in-flight service started with Dinner that was served after about 1 hour in the flight. For the main dish I was offered the choice between either Beef or Fish.
I took the Beef which comes with potatoes and Vegetables (Carrots & Broccoli); also there was Tuna Salad, Cheese, butter, Cracker, bread and Strawberry Cream Pie as a desert. Honestly the food was very delicious.
After the dinner they FA was offering drinks either Coffee or tea, and about 20 minutes later they started collecting the Trays and deemed the cabin light to allow passengers to sleep.
Dinner
Short after they started the first movie which was The Queen (Excellent), then short term after the movie and a drink break, they started the second movie which was Mustangs. We were in FL370 flying tailwind which changed later to FL390.
Since the flight was at night so most of the PAX went to sleep, I spent the time watching the movie and reading my book and did write some of this report.
About 3 hours left on the flight they played a third movie which was Arabic Movie (Ali Spicy) during the movie and about 2 hours from landing they start serving the Breakfast.
we had a Continental breakfast; consisted of Croissant, Bread, Yogurt, Jam, Butter and Orange Juice.
After breakfast was served we started preparation for landing, we circled over Cairo so we can start final descending from the south part of the city, and we landed on 05L.
After landing we taxied to the Stand where we were holding for about 15 minutes before we finally reached the Stand near Terminal 1 Hall 3 where Buses were waiting to take us to the Terminal, arriving to the terminal and clearing the Immigration and then claiming the luggage wasn't bad experience, Hall 3 is a small hall but it's clean and easy to figure out your way.
following are some pictures that i took while entering Egyptian soil and landing at Cairo Airport

Thanks and Hope You enjoy it and hope I did a good job.

Thanks a lot Captin Tut for the great report , I didn't expect you to post it that early...Good job .
Quoting CaptinTuT (Thread starter): (I included a lot of pictures but something was wrong with my camera the quality wasn't normal and I didn't notice until I downloaded them so accept my apology
Taxiing at JFK takes forever , when i took this very same flight back in 1999 , it took us 45 minutes between pushback and take off .
Quoting CaptinTuT (Thread starter): ( it's on the right side of the plane, the plane configuration is 3-4-2),
I just love the 3-4-2 configuration on MS T7's , quite a smart configuration if you ask me : It allows both large families and small families to sit together .
Quoting CaptinTuT (Thread starter): I dropped them and then went home( I live about 10 minutes from JFK) took dinner with my family and then took the air train back to the airport, went to the security around 5:30 where it took me few minutes to clear.
I guess it always helps if you live close to the Airport
I am happy you didn't forget to include pix for the meal services . It looks like the food was excellent as per MS standards , last time i flew them last year JED-CAI , the hot breakfast was excellent as well .
I always love this sight from the plane , this is the very first thing you see in Egypt from up there : the northern coastline where the blue waters of the Mediterranean hugs the yellow sands of the desert .
Quoting CaptinTuT (Thread starter): Since this Report took more than I expected because of the pictures I decided to put the return trip in a Separate report which will follow this one so soon.
It would be interesting to know why the aircraft was there. Funnily enough Lotus Air wet leased one of their A320s (SU-LBG) to Nouvelair between 05/04/07 and 09/04/07.
Strangely this summer both Libyan Arab Airlines and Afriqiyah Airways will both have 5x weekly TIP-CAI-TIP flights that only operate minutes apart...both are owned by the Libyan government.

Quoting Horus (Reply 7): Not to nitpick but the aircraft in the hanger is an A340-200
How did you notice Mr. Eagle's eye ( or should i say Horus eye ) . I believe you can tell cause the tails of the late B747's are devoid of the Horus Logo .

Can't agree more.
Quoting MSYYZ (Reply 6): Good for MS , full plane even in the low season .
that's True, today i met a friend of mine who is a FA on Egypt Air and he told me that all the flights now is Full in all the routes which is really a good news.
Thanks you Horus basha, el7amd llah it was fine just too short for such a long flight
Quoting Horus (Reply 7): What was your opinion of the cabin crew on board?
the Crew was very friendly as usual, on the return flight they were amazing i talked a lot with them.
Quoting Horus (Reply 7): Did you happen to see the 'orange' T3 being constructed?
I sure did, and Guess what wait for the CAI-JFK TR and you will see some pictures of it.
Quoting Horus (Reply 7): Strangely this summer both Libyan Arab Airlines and Afriqiyah Airways will both have 5x weekly TIP-CAI-TIP flights that only operate minutes apart...both are owned by the Libyan government.
That's strange, how is Yield on this route?

Not at all, it was too far away so i thought it was the second one, good eye.
Quoting Horus (Reply 7): They will surely be missed when they eventually leave the fleet.

Great report and pictures!! I flew Egypt Air in '96 from JFK-CAI-JFK on their 747-300's. I remember the cabin being very empty on our night flight over to CAI, but the day flight back to JFK was totally full.

Back then , Egyptair used to fly 4 times a week between CAI and JFK using a mix. of B747's and B767's ( both types have retired now ) .
Currently , the Airline operates a daily B777 service between the 2 cities .

Really enjoyed your trip report, and great addition with the pictures, especially of the meals served on board because they give us all a better idea of what actually was served. When people say that they were offered chicken or beef, or in your case, beef or fish, the picture shows a totally different meal than I would have expected with the veg and potato to the side of a nice portion of beef. Just something small that I can use now when booking clientel or groups onto foreign airlines, I can reference your description/picture and credit you with that, but it really helps especially when you compare some other pictures on here of what other international carriers have been serving on transatlantic flights lately

- Looks ok for 'Y', a real looking bit of Beef too! Interesting about the salad having tuna, I'd hate that - yuck!
Quoting Jaysit (Reply 22): No alcohol on a 14 hour flight to Cairo?

Quoting Jaysit (Reply 22): That's surprising because its easy enough to get alcohol in Egypt at bars and restaurants.

25 MCOflyer: Did you have IFE in Y class as in AVOD? Or was it just just that screen i kept seeing? You saw a EOS 757 and I think the EK 340 was a 777. Great TR. L
