Just a question here: which is the world's most remote airport with scheduled pax or civilian cargo traffic, EXCLUDING INTER-ISLAND FLIGHTS? Measurements in kms/mi/nms, not time.
The reason I put in the "excluding inter-island flights" constraint is that, for instance, a place like PPT is quite remote if you consider the next "big" airport (Rarotonga I guess), but it's not remote at all if you consider all the smaller French Polynesian airports clustered around it. Therefore I would like to exclude the latter category. Same goes for HNL: remote from everything other than some other Hawaiian Island.
However, I would include flights that go beyond an island group, for instance HNL-MAJ, which is a link between the Hawaiian Islands and the Marshall Islands.
So, what are your candidates? Mine is Isla de Pasqua (IPC/SCIP), which is 2,030 nm from its next airport, which is SCL.
