This LH 346 was damaged yesterday in FRA due to a catering truck falling onto the back of its right wing. This was only one of many incidents in Germany in the past two days because how high winds.

And the high winds were not even half as bad here as they were in northern Germany.....
I was boarding an LH 735 yesterday morning which was parked on a remote stand, at about 07:30 am. The bus driver had just opened the doorr when the storm came. I was soaking wet on my right side in seconds. You could feel the plane shaking and I saw one in boind flight gpoing around. . Might have happened around that time yesterday.

Any ground crew folks out there...
Are there situations when the weather is so bad that you need to load catering supplies by some other means because of truck/wind issues like this one--like through the jetbridge at airports that have them, or through the cargo hold (if that's even possible on most a/c)? Or do winds that bad delay the flight so it wouldn't matter?

Yup, every piece of ground equipment has (should have) maximum wind operating restrictions... guess in this case either the weather caught them by surprise, or they weren't following laid down prcedures!?
