UA also has domiciles in LHR, FRA, and NRT. (Maybe HKG).

I thought that AA also had a foreign national crew base in South America (LIM?)

Which crews will get to work these NRT 777 flights? United or Continental Micronesia FAs? I was surprised to hear HNL crews worked the GUM-HNL route and a rumor they would be getting a HNL-MAJ turn too, so GUM based FAs would lose their only HNL layover (via the island hopper).

I find it interesting how airlines in Japan love their 3 letter abbreviations. Japan Air Lines = JAL, All Nippon Airways = ANA, Japan Air System = JAS (formerly Toa Domestic Airlines = TDA) and they even paint (or had at one point) their liveries as such. (There's even more, JAA, JEX, JTA...)

Another great trip report. Brings back many childhood memories of HNL and GUM. My dad would take me to Hickam AFB and the reef runway for spotting and all the domestic widebodies. I miss all these classic jets and paint schemes. Thank you for sharing!

It would. Doors 3L/R are like this on B6 Mint A321s. No safety issue, allows for the same egress as an overwing window exit, if not more than. These doors are probably considered secondary exits too.

Our main thing was new planes, the first airline with LiveTV in all seatbacks, leather seats, free snacks (mainly the blue potatoes chips), and all black uniforms.
