Re: This just in: First AC A220 out of paint

Just one "small" error for the eagle-eyed. I give it 5 seconds for someone to point it out. (You had ONE JOB, paint shop....) It appears the maple leaf logo is backward on the tail. The opening at the bottom of the stem should be on the right, not the left. If you look more closely, the m...

AA started SJC-TPE on April 1, 2001 with a 777-200ER. It ended shortly after 9/11 in October 2001, though I’m not sure of the exact date.

Re: Airline museums....which airlines have them?

AA has the Flagship Knoxville, a fully restored DC-3 that you can tour the inside of. That’s the only full aircraft, but there’s also an F-100 cockpit and DC-10 engine and landing gear to check out. There are quite a few interactive exhibits, tons of airline history, and the theatre with a pretty co...

Until this recent wave of 757 retirements, AA had 48 757s in service: 5 LUS 75Es, 10 LUS 75Hs, 26 LAA 75Ls, and 7 LAA 75Ds (two still in the old 22/160 configuration and five in the newer 24/160 configuration). Why in the heck is UA's UM policy so restrictive? On AA you can travel on a connecting flight as a UM as young as 8, and 15+ doesn't require UM status, and DL's rules are the same. I also noticed on AA's site that if you're 15 and under you must book over the phone with reservations, not online. Tha...

Those F seats look like they could be a solid Y+ seat on a longhaul carrier. Do they have leg rests that come out of the bottom? It looks like the BE Aerospace MiQ seat, which AA uses for both domestic first (two-class) and widebody Premium Economy seats. The domestic first seats do not have a foot...

AA is in the process of taking the 75L (international 757) fleet from 20 to 24, with at least one of the four additional frames complete. As for ORD-AMS, I suppose it makes sense as I've seen a posting recently for Dutch-speaking F/As. The PHL-AMS route is moving to 75L equipment (LAA), which must be crewed by LAA crew. It was determined by Crew Planning that this flying would be covered by the ORD base, hence the need for speakers. ...
