After reviewing the incidents being reported, none of them seem to be due to 'maintenance' or mechanic issues, IMHO. This isn't an open and closable panel. The fairing is attached with screws and not removed on any regular basis. If it has screws, it is a open and closable panel. IIRC, that panel is opened to lube the flap drive and jackscrew every A Check, about 450 flt hours or so.... I was more so pointing out...

Haven't looked into it, but believe the 787-8s were built and painted in Seattle, some of the 787-9s were built and painted in Charleston. Atmospheric conditions, or a different paint composition might have been made by Boeing, but it seems some of the -9s liveries are not as durable as the -8s(?)....
