AFs 742Fs had only one window on the upper deck on the right side, and none on the left. At least one of their 742M Combis was treated the same way when converted around 2000.

National has repainted 744F N537CA in a modified livery in matte silver and blue. The aircraft had been flying for them since December last year in a rather shabby ex-Air Bridge hybrid livery.

744F TF-AMK has been ferried to Cotswold Airport. A lease return? Or storage before operator Air Atlanta finds a new contractor? JA701J was retired on the same day as JA702J, 31.03.2023. The slightly younger plane has been sent from HND to VCV earlier this month.

According to air fleets both are actually 777-246ERs.

To add, JA703J has been parked at HND 10 days ago. Perhaps also a retirement.

The A340 and the A380 are both examples that passenger preference comes second when airlines are choosing an aircraft type. The A340 is smoother and quieter than the 777, the A380 the most comfortable plane of all. Both fell for smarter, more economical, but NOT more comfortable alternatives.

Considering the availability of airframes at rock bottom prices I'm surprised nobody was ever interested in a freighter conversion. You would think that someone would have wanted a cheaper alternative to a 777F that could carry more cargo further than a 767. There are A332P2F, A333P2F, and A333BDSF...
