This aircraft is still sitting at the Horizon hangar. I take it can’t go back into service until the investigation is totally complete?

United’s PDX hangar is having its open house today. It only took three years to repurpose this old ANG hangar. That's not good, but thanks for the response. Any future changes to where international flights are handled will be covered by the new master plan that the Port is working on. Easier said than done, but you would think they could have at least built a walkway the length of the D concourse for inter...

We still occasionally get some transfer bags here at PDX. We don’t like to run down their bags to the old Skywest hangar where they operate from because you have to go through a security checkpoint on the way back.

It’s crazy they flew a DC-10 to PSP. I worked at PSP in the early 90’s and American had a bunch of igloos left over from their widebody days on the field. They used them for storage at the time.

Would you time stamp it? I see TWA and Continental, both have red backgrounds. The restaurant in the main terminal was the Red Lion. They had a smaller restaurant between E3-E4 called Red’s.

The United hangar has been one boondoggle after another for the last two years. They should’ve never leased that old ANG hangar. It would of been cheaper to raze it and then build a new one. United does A checks on one RON Airbus. They were suppose to start doing B checks at the new hangar but that’...

I don’t see it at Thermal, which is right next to Coachella and Indio, both are growing cities near Palm Springs. Wendover would be good, middle of the desert and have places to stay at the casino hotels. This was where the Enola Gay plane and crew trained before it went to Pacific theater.

AA has been renovating terminal 4 since they moved in. I miss the first addition, when they built the widebody gates where the nose of the plane was feet from the terminal glass.

The HNL-GUM is non rev flight for all the Micronesians that work for United these days. Half of my co-workers come from GUM or TKK. The SFO-MNL will be a non rev flight also. It will probably have 100+ listed every day.

ONT. The new terminal that opened in 1998 should of been one large terminal with a parallel concourse like SNA. Sorry, I meant D1 not B1. The old C concourse gate hold rooms were tiny. The ramps that you had to walk down to the door took a lot of space for seats.

Brand new terminal and same old stuffy and way too small baggage claim. It looks like the new gate E1 will be were the north atrium is today. I wonder if gate B1 will be removed because of ramp spacing, B1 always had a weird small hold room.

Gates E1 and E5 both could handle a 747. Now the United gates can’t even hold a 757. We will see what the new gates E1 and E2 will look like when the new terminal is complete.

KLM connections to the DL AMS-PDX flight are pretty close to impossible. Most of the inbound KLM Euro flights arrive around 9am. That gives you one hour to connect and pass through passport control. A 1PM departure works better for connections.

This is the first time in many decades that labor has the upper hand in collective bargaining agreements. Lets see how the unions handle it. I know Southwest IAM members turned down their recent agreement. No one wants to start at $15.00 a hour and wait 11 years to top out these days.

OAK was a large line station for United with flights to SEA, PDX, HNL, LAX, BUR, ONT, SNA, SAN, DEN, ORD, IAD. The DC-10 maintenance base also. Southwest moving in pretty much killed it for United.

Sister and Brother-in-law waited 1 hour 11 minutes at OGG this past Saturday to pull into a gate on a flight from Chicago on UA. It’s ridiculous what the contractors pay the rampers! I worked outside for 42 years here in Houston, it’s brutal in the summer, and not speak of winter in northern states...
