This may be good for AC passengers, but I use the GO bus to and from YYZ to Hamilton as I arrive/leave on Delta. Takes me to the GO centre and I jump a city bus (HSR) from there with a free transfer. Super cheap for me as a senior with Presto card and easy!
Jump to postAnybody remember the AC and (legacy) EAL L-1011 sharing ages ago? Made good use of the aircraft during seasonal demands.
Jump to postI grew up in and used to live in YHM and visit often. I found it interesting that they advertise the flights as "Toronto". For once we Hamiltonians can crawl out from under our Toronto inferiority complex! YHM is NOT YYZ!! I wonder how much confusion it will create with customer's expectat...
Jump to postBuffalo at an over 90% cancel rate today!? https://flightaware.com/live/airport/KBUF/cancelled_origin The national guard had to be dispatched to save people stuck in Buffalo streets so I am surprised it is only 90%. Airport is remaining shut down through tomorrow midday, looks like close to 4 feet ...
Jump to postI grew up 12 km from YHM and I used to fly in and out on Nordair to YUL and PIT. I am in Hamilton every few weeks and have watched the Golden Horseshoe expand dramatically. I use either YYZ or BUF and each has its drawbacks not only for me but many others. For YYZ there is the choking traffic on the...
Jump to postI was in DBV a few weeks ago. I was visiting Czechia and Serbia as well. Some subjective observations: The hotel staff (Hilton Imperial) were thankful for the direct flights, as were other establishments. They were helping keep them alive. Speaking with guests who were at the Hilton, most came on DL...
Jump to postI do not think that losing UA will make much of a difference, TLH is basically a DL town although AA has made some inroads on routes such as MIA I live in TLH. I am DL Lifetime Diamond (6MM) and still have my plaque from their inaugural flight - November 1, 1983 There is indeed bleed to JAX and ECP....
Jump to postThe announcement states 4 trips weekly, but I can not find the flights on the Delta Web site, searching after July 2. Are they bookable yet? It is possible that I am missing something. I see that there are connections available via AF ... Thank you for any information
Jump to postI flew Pan Am quite a bit in the mid-1970's I was a regular on flights 200 - 201 between JFK and GIG for nearly 2 years. It was a love hate relationship. I fondly remember the upstairs dining on the 747 SP -- Gentlemen, please wear jackets! I do not remember fondly some of the operational issues (EZ...
Jump to postGiven that land borders are shut, the Canadians that normally drive down to Florida/Arizona for the winter will have to go by air this year (if they choose to go, since they'll either have to rent a car or go without a car if they come down). They are having the cars shipped across the border (legal...
Jump to postI was one of those affected by a cancellation. I was notified well in advance and rebooked efficiently. The new flights still had the seat spacing enforced AND masks enforced, as 2 pax were thrown off one of the flights, never to fly Delta again. The delays due to the handling of the selfishness of ...
Jump to postIIRC there were also "Courtesy Rooms" -- at least for DL. These were not full fledged Crown Rooms but little holes in the wall with a bar and a few seats. There was one in ABQ I recall and (this is a long time ago) also BTR or JAN -- can not remember which. I do know that it was shutdown du...
Jump to postI am an FC (as well as a DM, 6MM+, etc, etc). It was marketing based and awarded to potential passengers in a new market -- think here in TLH in 1983 -- and those who showed not just a lot of travel but had influence to grow the business for them. When DL came to town I introduced their marketing sta...
Jump to postI have a (not so fond) memory of getting a speeding ticket from the Nebraska State Patrol while rushing across I-80 from Lincoln to catch a CO flight from OMA. Added a few $$$ to the judge's retirement fund.
Jump to postThere is also the immigration aspect, as I found out. I am a LPR (Green Card) and did not have it with me when leaving during a visit a year or so ago and had to spend an hour in the "back room" before they let me through. The tourism advertises "no passport needed" but that is n...
Jump to postInteresting. I had thought that this route would have potential. When I lived in YHM many years ago NordAir had 737's on this route and it was SOOO convenient not to have to fight my way to YYZ (and that disaster of the original round terminal). The is a large catchment are south and west of YYZ (Ni...
Jump to postTo be honest, some of us are not unhappy to see them go. When it was "ASA" it was known as "Atlanta's Sh@@@@@est Airline" due to low levels of timekeeping and service. This has also been noted in FAA statistics. As a very frequent flyer out of TLH for 30+ years we would "boo...
Jump to postMany years ago a Pilgrim Arlines Twotter clipped a jetway at YUL. After a roll of duct tape and making sure the few of thus that were about to board got well lubed at the bar (on the pilot's Credit card) we flew home to BDL. First officer would shine a light on the tape every few minutes when airbor...
Jump to postThe DL web site shows that DL 2952 LGA-DFW on Jan 31 is available for purchase and denotes A200-100 yet the seat map shows an A319. Would any DL staff on this forum have an insight as to which is correct?
Jump to postI am in TLH, in my office looking out on the storm. Max recorded wind speed that I have seen is 71 MPH TLH airport is closed, but reopening tomorrow AM. DL deadheaded the 2 inbound MD88's back to ATL last night. Ops will resume tomorrow. Not a big deal here -- we were notified well in advance. Frank...
Jump to postAs someone who passes through through YYZ Terminal 3 up to 20 times a year the best I can say is that it is a third world airport in a world class city. From what I have heard it the issues is a combination of incompetence and politics. Terminal 3 US departures is a total overcrowded disaster. The &...
Jump to postI had a similar seat issue (not on AS) recently due to a double booking of some sort. I received an email from the airline in advance, apologising for my downgrade and providing compensation and a waiver of all change fees and fare difference should I care to re-book. As a road warrior of 45+ years ...
Jump to postAbout bloody time they fix their technology. I have had nothing but issues with the supposedly "seamless" travel. I am especially looking at you, AZ!
Jump to postAs someone who grew up in the Hammer and visits every few weeks, I think its time may have come. Driving to YYZ at any time except 3AM is a mess on the QEW, and the 407 toll road is ridiculously expensive -- doubly so if you do not have a transponder. And, then one often has the immense displease of...
Jump to postVery interesting how times have changed -- in the mid 70's I lived near HVN and took the Pilgrim twotters (Twin Otters) to LGA almost every week to make my connection to CVG, DFW or almost anywhere! Sure beat the drive and tolls. HVN has so much potential. -- and in those days the parking was free!
Jump to postI line in TLH and totally avoid the local media. The writing is really terrible and they rarely get their facts correct. What you saw is typical -- and some of the "front page" articles are simply filler/click bait.

I lost a friend in that tragedy, but every time I hear the announcement for the emergency lights (which is up to 150+ times a year) I am grateful that the loss of his life was not in vain.
I flew on April 9, 1982 from LHR to BWI (yes, correct -- we had to divert due to the spring blizzard of 1982). BA had a promotion (the Falklands war had just started) and for $400 over your already booked fare on BA you could upgrade to Concorde. Easy decision! I still have my mementos including the...
Jump to postIIRC, Allegheny once flew YYZ - BUF, 68 miles ... EA may have done the same, in an L-1011 yet!
Jump to postbased PURELY on observation, having taken this flight recently, there was some concern with the crew that we were at MTOW and the passenger count and loads were scrutinised carefully, but after a 15 minute delay we were on our way -- all seats occupied from what I could see. So, to answer, there may...
