Next time you're up in a flightdeck, take a cell phone and have someone call you on it. Hold it next to or in front of the display screens and watch the display flicker.
Regardless of how little happens when a cell phone is switched on, people really should learn to accept the rules.

The "spear like things" on the horizontal stabilizer are antennas. I don't know what they're exactly used for but it's either for the navigations, electronics, or communications equipment.

Without going through security I believe you can only go to the Atrium lounge (other than the roof of the parking garage). Since the lounge is all you see and there's nothing really in the lounge I don't think it's that good.

I somewhat agree with Artsyman. The cargo security has been pretty good as far as I've seen. However, you (not speaking to anyone specifically) cannot disregard those few loop wholes that are still out there and at some airports pretty apparent.

I guess I should have been clearer on the issue and not bring peoples hopes up too high. Some flights, such as military charter, you get lucky. Also, some guys here work with the FAA. Just by being nice and friendly you'd certainly not get a jumpseat ride.
