This only goes to show that keeping 737-600/-700 going because of Southwest only was a mistake. Oh please...how many -600's did WN order? Boeing actually discussed a stretched 717-300 to offer to airlines as a possible MD-80 replacement, but no one bit, and kept ordering the 737's. Thus the line we...

AA's new branding and hard product were decided by then CEO Tom Horton, well before the merger. All the new aircraft were ordered with IFE in Y before Doug came along. Notice how he's now stripping it out, in addition to degrading the meal service. Never been a fan of Doug...and it doesn't surprise...

ExpressJet did their thing ten years ago when the economy took a dump and gas sucked any profits out of 50-seaters. Will be interesting to watch. And their fares were gloriously awesome! And they had a free sandwich/pasta snack on their flights...even from SAT to OKC...and free XM radio on their ER...

This is slightly off topic a little bit but when Saint Maarten rebounds to its full potential, I think AS would do great on a non-stop from LAX-SXM. Cuba will take probably a decade before it becomes anywhere NEAR the destination from the US that other Caribbean destinations have become. A half-century of embargo and mistrust will do that to ya...and a glaring lack of support infrastructure.

You don't know that. It's probable that Boeing offered NW the right to cancel or convert the 787 order should it not meet outlined then expectations (it didn't). Really? I don't know that? So quick to throw spears these days, aren't we. NW signed a contract with Boeing for 787s...NW and DL merged.....

Unfortunately, that bid hinges more on GROUND transportation, which Austin ... doesn't really have. Short of Austin improving their highway system around downtown (the eastern toll bypass doesn't count), and the introduction of light rail of any sort in the city...Austin will have a hard time copin...
