I flew FRA-IAH-OKC today...when going through the security checkpoint at IAH after clearing customs, the TSA folks announced that ALL food in carry-ons will have to be taken out for inspection. I asked the agent when that was implemented, he said it's going national soon...and that most airports wil...Jump to post

The 321 LR range has always been an issue. Ive said it time and time again. Ive been told im anti-airbus...but im just reporting what flight ops has told us. You could safely go south from the US. The problem is with Europe and winter winds with a full load and an alternate needed. How often will i...Jump to post
Louisiana One, who knows maybe a new flight to go with it. Good to see MSY get some love especially on top of the new airport opening next year. Looks beautiful! Looks like it. They updated the time to 1130 CST and post location is New Orleans. Good to see their first non-Texas location FINALLY get...Jump to post
Considering how long it took them to equip them with BLENDED winglets (and, someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I still don't think their 757 fleet has been fully winglet modified yet), I highly doubt it.Jump to post
Spirit wouldn’t put up for F9’s dartboard approach. Really? I beg to disagree...NK's approach in the past when they've moved into an airport is more akin to strip mining...they move in and launch half a dozen (or more) routes from that new city...and end up canceling a good 1/3-1/2 of them within a...Jump to post
Wonder if the prices will actually go down, or if the lowest fare now becomes BE. AA is offering BOS-CDG for $430 on regular economy. I doubt they drop this even lower as a BE fare. They won't and that's the scam...they've tried to market this as a price savings, when in fact it's nothing more than...Jump to post

I agree with AWACSooner (BTW, I always enjoy work trips to Tinker) in that some Y+ seats are overpriced but they don't have to be. Delta and AS have a little extra room and amenities for a little extra money. That's all I'm looking for, especially on relatively short trips. Have not seen what AA wi...Jump to post

Heh...riiight...and you think the countries those foreign airlines are based out of would reciprocate? Doubt it. No thanks. God forbid people have access to competitively priced flights and humane treatment on their domestic flights. Because foreign airlines are the answer to everything? How about ...Jump to post

cledaybuck wrote:That's regular economy these days. Basic economy takes away the ability to choose a seat and bring a carry on (except DL). It also removes some FF benefits. All for the low price of what you were paying for economy before.
So, are you talking about which UNITED STATES AIRPORTS see the most 747's? Because, based upon your thread title, it can be assumed that you're asking about WORLDWIDE.
If it's the latter, than probably a 2-horse race between LHR, FRA with SYD/ICN coming behind.
I'm based in Cape Town and tempted to show up for my next flight back to London with a support Great White With what water to hold him in? ;) Just head north to the Transvaal and pick up your emotional support spitting cobra...hours of guaranteed fun on the plane. I thought I read that UA and SW will be the launch customers; and more articles pointed to UA. Guess DL realized they missed the boat on the 787 and figure they better not be left all alone again. They HAD Dreamliners on order when they merged with NW...they decided not to take them. Dumb decision,...Jump to post

I'm still waiting for OKC to actually launch some MCO and DCA n/s flights...DCA was promised before the Wright Amendment was lifted and never started...MCO was weekend only from time to time...and now F9 has moved in on that (with G4 service to SFB). A BNA option would be nice too...and OAK (to offe...Jump to post

Agreed. Finally, FINALLY an actual east coast link from AA. Big time add! I wonder what equipment they'll use - E75? I'd count CLT as an east coast link...but this makes it much easier for another NE connection, and maybe some fare competition to UA's 1x daily EWR and IAD runs. Still waiting on WN ...Jump to post

AA had management issues well before their bankruptcy/merger with US. In fact, I thought Parker and co. ran US Airways fairly well. The issue came when they combined the two airlines, Parker is overwhelmed and is learning that you can't run the world's largest airline like you could run US Airways....Jump to post
Japan domestic flights have less frills than US domestic. JAL have 50 more seats in a B767 than AA does. They have 500 in a B773. In economy, you get a cup of coffee/ soup/ tea. The reason why domestic LCC haven't been successful in Japan is because, frankly, JAL and ANA already are. That's because...Jump to post
A lot of people stick to WN, not because they have the lowest fares(higher or highest on many routes when wanna get away fares are limited) but because they have had a consistent product. Sure, over the last 15 years, their legroom is down to 32-33", their service is essentially they same. THI...Jump to post
UA has done it. They don’t seem to be hurting for bookings. Why is getting rid of a heavy, expensive, maintenance hog, and replacing it with the technology of the future a dumb decision? I am done with AA. Economy Basic is what did it for me. Sure I will still fly them internationally when the price is good, but other than that I avoid them, and I will pay more to fly B6 or WN compared to AA.
