You use the full resolution then. What (on average) values do you use for sharpening? At 1600px wide, and image on the Retina display barely takes up half the screen. As such it appears sharp (perfectly sharp in fact) without any sharpening. How do you gauge it for viewing on a pc for example? Not e...

Hi all. Haven't been on the forums for what seems years. Would very much like to hear from anyone that uses a MBP/Retina for editing of aviation images. Main issue (only issue tbh) is sharpening. There used to be a great supplier of telescopic ladders/steps. They reduced to the size of a bagged tripod. The legs even folded together, not like the ones available today where only the steps fold down to the bottom.

Maybe not on your list but you'll still get a ton of prop commuters and stored classics at Stockholm ARN. SF340/2000, ATP, J31/2 from various airlines in large numbers. A few SE210s and DC-8s stored and quite visible.

There is. You can flat it. With that I mean you can sand it slightly with fine paper and polish it up. It takes a little time which in turn means money. Is it worth it, I don't know? I guess the labour costs would be over looked if the company image was to be upheld through painting the nacelles. Sp...

So with that in mind, Boeing have created the perfect join between the nacelle and inlet lip? If that's flusher than a layer of paint that's some statement. Or does the inlet lip protrude slightly higher than the nacelle? If that was the case then surely paint could be applied to bring it up to the ...

RE: Guess What Color BA's 787 Engine Nacelles Will Be?

Paint is measured in microns. It's not anywhere nearly as thick as people make out. Weight and thickness with varying colours wouldn't pose a problem afaik. As to the problem with the laminar/turbulent flow, I'm not sure that would cause half as many problems as it would've had it been a wing. Spence

With the new paints now only one coat of base is required, on top of the primer. No more 2 or 3 coats nowadays, everything is cromate free, waterborne, easy to apply. It's all down to money as you say. I personally wouldn't like to apply a base coat without a primer; the whole idea of a primer is for better adhesion and a longer life for the base coat / top coat. As a rule aluminium requires an etch primer, normally a high solid yellow as I tried to describe abov...
