Since the 1980's ACC has always had the evening rush hour. LOS very similar. Yes, I will grant you that. Surprised not via ACC with the new venture ET been trying to set up in Accra. They could do the same they done with SAA, connect local traffic via Africa world airlines. Their LFW-LAX failed, i believed they moved some of their NYC to ABJ instead of LFW where passengers connect with Air Cote D'Ivoire.

Its a shame not via ACC as they plan to open a new airline here. Instead of ABJ. I am wondering if SA flying JHB-ACC-IAD played into their decision. Just spitballing. SAA adding extra capacity to IAD via Acc ( 5 weekly), this bring the total weekly flights between JNB-ACC to 9.

I don't know that I'd consider west Africa from BEY a long haul flight that needs a long range widebody. A330-900 seems larger and more range then MEA needs. Are JFK, GRU, Tokyo or Hong Kong on their horizon ? Just because the plane has long range doesn’t mean it can only operate 10h flights. Many A330-200s, 777-300ERs etc do medium haul or even short haul. And btw MEA do have a handful of long range ...

There is no connections from LAX to anywhere in west Africa via LFW without a long layover.
ET can easily fill the LAX-ADD with transit to JNB, SEZ, somalia and virtually anywhere in southern africa!
