I used to like to board a US carrier after a long trip abroad. However, as the non-US carriers restricted miles benefits, I started flying on the US carriers (mostly AA) far more often. Frankly, I'm sick of them.

In the US, I think that the most appropriate icon of modern aviation is the CRJ/ERJ....

The 777, 787, A380 are all nice planes, but they are a far cry from what US aviation has become. Nor are they really a major part of aviation anywhere outside of the Asia/Pacific area.
