Re: Windshear on A343 take off scare at Zurich

There is certainly no windshear issue. The plane reacts perfectly to the rather unusual elevator movements, which are rather clearly seen on the tail beginning at 0:23. As ZEKE writes in reply #11 the PF may be partially excused by inaccurate stab trim setting, possibly due to inaccurate weight and ...

I don't think it is the last time we will discuss a postponement of the MC-21 program. Nobody needs it. Few orders, no new orders for 7 years. Russia has all the planes they need for the next few decades. What they need is places to fly them to. I am not convinced that the Russians have the capabili...

Re: John Oliver's Take on Boeing

He mentioned the large number of fatalities from DC10 crashes, but not all of those crashes were attributable to design flaws (e.g. AA 191 and Air New Zealand 901). This is not entirely true for AA 191. Sure the root cause - the engine separation - wasn't a design flaw, it was a maintenance fault. ...

Another question, is the MC-21 really needed any time soon, or when will it be needed? With so many Airbus and Boeing planes stolen, and so much fewer places to fly to, there must be a lot of good planes parked around in ruski. If they take a little care of those stored planes, and don't just let th...
