The only door the pilots might arm from the cockpit is the cockpit door. The overwing exits are automatically armed through the PSEU and throttle position lever as I explained in my previous post.

The inlet doors for the MD-80 APU is on the bottom of the tail just forward of the ventral airstairs. You cannot see them in the above picture. These doors open and close with the start and stop cycles of the APU.

Why is everyone talking about the IAM and United Mechanics? THe United mechanics are represented by AMFA, Aircraft Mechanics Fraternal Association. The IAM was kicked out by the mechanics. I believe the IAM only represents the ramp workers and the customer service people.
