In the United States, we actually have the unions to thank for some of the safety regulations put into place by the FAA about work rules and pilot duty time plus higher training standards. Overall, I think they've done some good for the industry.

It costs about $10 USD here, which is outrageous for a monthly magazine especially when the others on topic are half that. Major book chains like Borders or Barnes & Noble (but mainly Borders) carry the magazine. I usually just sit in Borders and read it for a half hour rather than purchasing it.

But did you take into account how connecting feed will be balanced at other points? With the removal of the Chicago O & D traffic, will enough connecting traffic exist to make flights to some cities worthwhile from your other connecting point?
