there are tons of routes from HND not flying. Why don't they just force the airlines to give it back and distribute it to American or Australian airlines? Certainly not as long as BNE-LAX, but pre-pandemic, Iberia flew Madrid to Tokyo Narita with an A332. I took that flight once and remember it taking forever to get to MAD.

Yes, I took this flight about 15 years ago as you mention. Remember two daily B744 to NRT and a B742B on the route to KIX.
