That's a big overall increase in business seats and the new premium economy product.
Obviously the demand is there to justify it.

Interesting co-operation, and even more interesting if EY does go the way of Star.

LH has a close relationship with SQ via Star, especially into Australiasia.
EY and SQ are major holder of Virgin Australia.
Does LH end up working with both into the far east?

Re: How widely used is the 'W Pattern' used by Airlines?

I think is correct. A true W pattern is usually short haul, with the whole rotation completed with a single crew. examples in the might include MEL-SYD-CNS-SYD-MEL, with timings: MEL 0700 - 835 SYD 915 - 12.25 CNS 13.00 - 15.55 SYD 16.30 - 18.00 MEL Surely that couldn't be completed by a single cre...

A true W pattern would be Base to remote to third pair back to remote and finally back to base with same crew in a continuous shift For instance as example might be Manchester - Hanover - Milan - Hanover - Manchester with Flybe. Generally these schedules are driving by one of these factors: 1. it's a low yield market, and airlines use the opportunity for overnight flying. From an accounting viewpoint, if they cover the direct operating costs and then some, it contributes to overall revenues. 2. the sector length and time di...

I don't see why you would need a 3-4 connection in Perth. If it is all in the same building the qantas should be able to do outbound in 60-90 mins no problem.
