Just announced they are coming back to PBI in March with daily service to Tampa, Pensacola and Nassau, plus 3-times weekly to Marsh Harbour and Tallahassee.
Jump to postSad to see Jimmy go. He was a regular here at PBI where he often had at least two personal aircraft based that he piloted. His aircraft were often registered under the name "Strange Bird." The last one I photographed with him flying was his Pilatus. He also flew a Dassault Falcon, a Cessna...
Jump to postI Look forward to seeing them all soon here at one of NetJets bigger operations - my home airport - PBI. Now if only they could add a little something to the paint job.
Jump to postIt seems like the corporate jet problem isn't exclusive to the USA. Apparently Amsterdam tried recently to ban corporate jets from its airport. The attempt failed - but the related problems remain.
Jump to postI agree the 15-40 seat range is void of any current production options
Jump to post“You sound like a lobbyist for the A4A”
First off - I don’t even know what the A4A is. Second - just trying to solve a problem - help or feel free to peruse other forums. Three - I want those corporate jets lined up to leave on time as much as the airlines.
The problem kind of reminds me of golf. At a local course you have your regulars that get the same tee time every day. Then the holidays hit and all the tourists want to play at the same time. Most courses don't all of a sudden allow 45 tee times at 8AM just because of the tourist demand. When the t...
Jump to post"There has been talk for years about rebuidling and lengthening 10R/28L into something usable by commercial/jet traffic as well. That would cut down with a lot of the congestion I see (I work at the southwest corner of PBI), but I don't know if there is a current timeline to make those runway c...
Jump to post"The amount of money that would be spent lobbying against whatever idea you come up with would be astronomical." I like a good challenge, but sadly I agree. And the regular Joe - paying for coach - sitting on a JetBlue A320 or Southwest 737 - trying to get home to their family on a Sunday ...
Jump to postThese are all good points - but none of them solve the problem. How do you organize an influx of aircraft (almost exclusively corporate/GA) on specific (predictable) days? This isn't a one-off event like the Derby or SuperBowl - its like having those days, twice a week - for three months straight. T...
Jump to post"Airports are not paid for by the taxpayers just for airlines. GA and corporate have just as much right to them." I agree completely. Just trying to organize both of them. It gets hard to do when there are 300 corporate jets one day and 50 the next - when the airline schedules are very pre...
Jump to post"The issue of late has been problems with upper level airspace."
Please explain.....thanks
And dumb question - why isn't this topic being recycled to the top of the forum when updates are added?
Jump to postOk - so while pulling the VFR move isn't technically a dodge - it can exacerbate an already bad situation. Either way - it adds to the need for some type of organized flight restriction into an airport like PBI or HPN during peak demand - when that demand is clearly greater than what the airport can...
Jump to postI’m not a pilot - please explain why VFR or IFR helps pilots get into a congested airport? Specifically - does one allow a flight to get in or out of a congested airport without being counted or subject to airline restrictions. Basically - is it a dodge? And I’m talking how it’s really applied - not...
Jump to postBut it really is predictable. A quick look at these delays over the past few years would easily show when the problem days and times are. Fridays afternoons are generally the busiest for arrivals and Sunday afternoons are the same for departures. Flightaware.com is one of several websites that alrea...
Jump to post"An hour wait isn't unusual." - Is exactly my point. It is predictable and for that reason should be avoidable with the right system.
Jump to postIt just seems like there has to be a solution to this. Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. This situation at PBI, and I'm sure several other airports, will only get worse over time. Its not unusual on a day like today (Sunday - in season) for there to be ...
Jump to postI work at PBI - an airport that for several months of the year sees a massive influx of corporate aircraft. On many weekends, this influx is a major factor leading to air traffic control delays - even on perfect weather days. The problem is consistent. The problem is predictable. These delays often ...
Jump to postI’ve been with Southwest for 18years - all at PBI as a Cust Serv Rep. Its a small station - and the passengers tend to be a little high maintenance - but it is Palm Beach after all. Most of the crowd is exceptionally loyal. And it’s a small but solid staff. We rotate people in mostly from FLL. Just ...
Jump to postJust saw the Donald in Iowa - but I’m pretty sure I’ve seen his 757 sitting here at PBI. Is he using his Cessna X, or something different? Or am I just missing his quick hops in and out of PBI?
Thanks
Next time you are flying from PBI on Southwest let me know - I’m one of those customer service gate agents making jokes that many tune out. I often do it to help at least some passengers feel more at ease. There are still a tremendous amount of passengers who have anxiety about flying. I’m glad your...
Jump to postI was watching activities at Nellis for a week or two last year - prepping for a planespotting trip. During that time I saw a Southwest 737 visit almost every day conducting military charters. Speaking of unusual visitors - a week later during my visit I photographed an AN-124 landing at Nellis.
Jump to postTail Number? Haven't spotted it in any of the articles. Sad news.
Jump to postBoy my editing must be terrible. I went from one reason for rejection first try. One reason for rejection second try to five reasons for rejection the third time. I give up. Thought it was a good enough shot to work with. Guess not/
Jump to postHey there airplane photo experts. I love the paint scheme on this aircraft - but the black is making it impossible to get approved. It has been rejected twice for underexposure. It was a late in the day photo - but the underside of the aircraft is really painted black - its not an exposure or shadow...
Jump to postI saw they were planning on constructing a huge building in Saudia Arabia about 15 years ago - (Kingdom Tower/Jeddah Tower) - it didn't exactly go according to plan. Big eyes, small stomach.
Jump to postWas on a Spirit flight recently when the pilot said we would be "flying around" some bad weather. A few minutes later there was constant lightning on both sides of the aircraft at the same time - while we bounced all over and the cabin got real quiet. Im sorry - we didn't fly around anythi...
Jump to postStarted building them in 1947 - and if Cubans like their Ukrainian planes the way they like their American cars - it’s an older model.
Jump to postSeveral news sources are reporting a local Cuban pilot - in an attempt to flee his home country - flew an Antonov AN-2 biplane from Cuba to Dade-Collier Transition Training Airport in the Everglades today. Quite the old plane, making an unusual flight, to an airport with an unusual history.
Jump to postWish it would stick around - Orlando-Sanford Air Show in two weeks.
Jump to postSouth Florida already has a Corrosion Corner/boneyard at Opa-Locka.
Jump to postHow many are still active in the fleet? What other airports will they be storing them? Are any being sold?
Jump to postHey there, for more than 2 months 1 JetBlue E190 has been stored on the East Ramp at PBI and 2 more (including the Blueprint jet) have recently joined the original. Any idea what the plans are for these aircraft?
Jump to postMore expensive than cost of a life or lives?
Jump to postQuote "I would like to see assigned seating at Southwest." Southwest actually did test assigned seating a few years back. They tried it at several stations, both large and small. And the passengers spoke....the reviews were horrible. It wound up like 80-20 in favor of keeping open seating....

Jump to postWhile I agree with much of Rajahdhani's assessment, one critical item missing is the fact that Palm Beach still has a very significant older population. For most of them, taking the Brightline or Tri-Rail to FLL or MIA is an absolute no-go, as is driving down the disasters that are I-95 or the Flori...

Five fastest growing markets in the US post-pandemic are cities that Southwest opened in the past three years.
The New England Patriots 767 flew into PBI from PVD yesterday. The Patriots are training at Palm Beach Atlantic College this week prior to their game against the Miami Dolphins on Sept. 11. Normally they would land at FLL. I read they came down early to be better prepared for the heat.
Jump to postAre there other factors in play when it comes to the lack of Europe service to JAX and PBI - I'm sure there are. But total passengers isn't enough on it's own to differentiate the three.
Jump to postI must be reading numbers wrong, because in 2020, I read PBI and JAX with both around 3.2 million each and RSW at 4.6 million - less than 1.5 million more. And in 2021, I read RSW at roughly 5million total, with JAX and PBI at 3.4 and 3.5 million - approximately the same difference as previous years...
Jump to postRSW fifth biggest in Florida. Is it that much bigger than PBI or JAX - both of which are generally void of any Europe traffic?
Jump to postI noticed the usual Eurowings A330 from Frankfurt, Germany to Fort Myers, Florida, was changed to an A359 today (9/4). Anyone know if this was an intentional upgrade because of demand, or just what was available for MX reasons? Either way - must be pretty amazing to see that kind of bird at a relati...
Jump to postI saw the first videos online of the aircraft in the middle of a field. The aircraft looks good - but cant see the bottom of it.
Jump to postAnyone running out there to try and get a photo of the aircraft?
Jump to postWay back in the day I was a newspaper reporter and covered a middair just short of KFPR and it involved a straight-in twin versus a single-engine pattern aircraft turning final. The pattern aircraft was a student in training at the time. The two clipped about 1 mile short of the runway and all onboa...

Jump to postIts not the Raiders - they are playing in Jacksonville. Except they are playing in Canton - so it is the Raiders.
Jump to postConsidering the gate it left (FB01) and the spot its scheduled to arrive (UAPAD) - i'm guessing some type of charter.
