Re: Windshear on A343 take off scare at Zurich

For a few comments further up: - No, the Airbus A340-300 does not have a tailstrike protection. - Normal law activates 5 seconds after MLG decompression or 100‘, whichever is later. - Trim is important for an effective rotation. But if the trim is not set properly, it will cause the rotation to be l...

Does anyone know which routes will be operated on A340-600 from Munich next summer? I would love to fly it before LH retire them for good. Interesting, but what was with the "stepped" rotation on take off? I don't recall seeing an A346 do this before. I'm willing to bet that it was the tailstrike prevention system doing that, not the pilots. The tailstrike prevention system is not active system for rotation. There is only an...

Re: Why weren’t the A330s not grounded after the pitot tube issues?

The magnitude of the failure of the system was not at all comparable. While the pitot failure had an influence on the aircrafts‘ systems, it did not activly hinder a flight / cause a crash. That is unfortunatly what the AoA issue on the 737Max can be seen. But to be honest, most importantly it is th...

I am also a mere Airbus pilot. But I’m led to believe that a key difference is that Boeing’s MCAS system is linked only to the capt AOA. So, a single faulty/frozen AOA vane could cause a nose down input from MCAS. Whereas, on an Airbus the same would have to be a double fault. As many will be aware...

Biggest difference, and the reason why stall training / upset recovery has been reintrudouced: While flying a small prop airplane, once you are in a stall you always add power right away. Jetstreams shift all over the place, and all of this also depends on which runway was used for departure and arrival, how much traffic there was on departure and arrival. There really is no other fair way of comparison unless you refer to GC distance.
