With united ordering an additional 789 at farnborough with delivery set for sometime in 2020, does that mean it'll be delivered with the Polaris seats? Yes, they mentioned the four they just ordered will come with Polaris. Probably coinciding with the reconfiguration of the existing 789s. Im actual...Jump to post
Munoz leadership? ROTFL...Munoz is the core of the problem and furthest thing from a leader....a panderer? yes! a leader....no way. Oscar is the best thing to happen to this airline in decades. Your opinion of him is based on, what, exactly? Mine is based on 24 years of being a pilot here and about...Jump to post
UA’s Next New Thing? 1. Finish what it has started - completing all aspects of the Polaris rollout - energizing and re-engaging the workforce - improving the passenger experience 2. Fire Scott Kirby interesting thing on 1C of your list...I was just flying UA this past week for the first time in a w...Jump to post

77W - 17 (all, 1 on order)
772 - 3/55 (3 in mod)
763 - 9/35 (2 in mod, 3 on order)
Did not see any other posts on this. One thing I noticed after watching the video is that it appears the aircraft is on the ground, and perhaps the boarding door is open (hard to tell). But the flight crew was out in the cabin area until she approached, at which time they retreated to the flight de...Jump to post
Didn't UA have a small Cargo fleet in the 90's? IIRC they flew the DC-10 before retiring themJump to post
love this post!! thank you for the posting this. Its always interesting to see how many 787's airlines have and their seating layouts and routes!! question regarding UA and the SFO-NRT on the 789, are they adding a 2nd flight for the SFO-NRT leg, or are they replacing the 77W? that would be a huge d...Jump to post
US carriers seem to be having a harder time in China this past year. The promise land of unlimited growth finally seems to be slowing. i think UA is on the only US airline that can make China work, they grew a lot in the past few years. UA serves what: PEK, PVF, CTU, XIY(seasonal), HKG. DL pulled o...Jump to post
What is United doing with all the Global First seats after they are removed? Do they get a shot a an afterlife or just a landfill? pretty sure the seats are going to the landfill. those seats are out of date and old, no one is going to want them anyway! Samething with the old business (2-3-2), a lo...Jump to post
Sorry: in this diagram are the straight forward seats indicated almost as a white line, one by the 2 sidewalls and one down the center? I see the angled seats fine! sorry if this was answered, but is UA releasing a separate 763 with a premium heavy layout or is it the same as the current polaris se...Jump to post

SFO cut IAG a deal to consolidate their services at SFO? IIRC, BA are also ceasing OAK. Going seasonal, supposedly. Although who knows if it really comes back in 2019. BA flies to OAK??? weird how they fly to OAK and SFO. I'd imagine SFO is better in terms of passengers and one world connections.Jump to post
They need to fix their Gate and Terminal layout before they add another runway. I've lost count on how many times i've arrived at the gate behind schedule because they had to wait for another plane to exit the gate area. LAX is congested when it comes to Terminal space and traffic. One way exit and ...Jump to post
By the way, what was wrong with the 767-200ERs from Continental that they retited them so early? Afaik they were as new as the 767-400s, built in the early 2000s, a decade younger than many of the UA 767-300ERs. I know they are heavy, weight per seat is much higher than the 763ER. But they were per...Jump to post

i remember reading on a few forums on how the 764 will not get the Polaris seat, what is the reason behind that?
With the first 772 retrofit near completion, and another one with the new Premium plus..how long till we see the entire international fleet with the new Premium plus?
They don't have any cargo aircrafts? So they truck everything? Not saying you're wrong, but that's hard to believe with how much weight they haul. Do they utilize Jet.com's fleet since acquisition? They use USPS, FEDEX, UPS and any other large cargo airline. If they dont ship via air cargo, its on ...Jump to post
Question though (I apologize for my ignorance) - Why a 3-2 configuration at all? If there's really a good reason for it, why other airliners (the B717 for example, the MD11 which some airlines used to configure as 2-4-3, etc...) have not kept their market? Why don't Boeing and Airbus consider thems...Jump to post

SFO was/is having weather delays. this might just be an issue with ATC playing tetris with the planes. Like the above comments, if a plan comes in early, it has wait till the a gate opens up...Jump to post
I think it is related to cost. 3-3-3 is identical sets of seats (easier to reconfigure or replace) 2-4-3 also needs 1 more entertainment box I think I would personally also prefer 2-4-3 I would also bet that the reason is cost. Identical sets of seats are cheaper to replace, etc. Interesting to see...Jump to post
I'm interested to see what changes with the 787s in the coming weeks. I believe the 788s are overscheduled as currently loaded. I'm seeing 788s on SFO-ZRH, SFO-TLV, SFO-KIX, SFO-XIY/CTU, DEN-LHR, DEN-NRT, IAD-GRU, IAD-LHR, IAD-ZRH, and IAD-PEK. I expect one or two of those will need to move up to t...Jump to post
Today looking up flights to New York I noticed when I viewed the seat map for my return choice UA341 on April 9th EWR-IAH that they show the 737-900 as only having 8 First Class seats. Is this correct? Is UA shrinking the cabin from 20 to just 8 or is this an error? With the flight being so far out...Jump to post
N898UA enroute LCQ UA 2688 CAN-NRT-ANC-DEN for Induction (ex-China Southern B-6242).
Damn, if that was a commercial flight, that is one i would avoid!! NRT-ANC is what 7.5 hours? way too long to be stuck inside an A319 lol
767-300(old 2 class), 777-200(INTL 2-class) 767-400, 787-8/9 will start in late 2018 and should be done by 2020. Will the refurbished 763s from the first round of mods actually get the new Polaris seats? I was under the impression they probably wouldn't. Those cabins are newer than some of the 787s...Jump to post
Patience man... It's going to take time for Polaris to be fully out on this massive fleet of aircraft. Right. Let's not forget that Polaris hasn't even been in service for a year. It takes years to roll out new premium seating across a fleet. When the 764s have seats which are only about six years ...Jump to post
We've seen plenty of long haul LCC's from Canada & Europe & many of the EU ones are now flying to USA. I presume there is no news or rumors about getting a second kind of bed seat for transcontinental ps service- such as a slightly modified all aisle access off the shelf solution for aircraft not slated for Polaris yet fly long and sometimes premium routes. I can see UA getting them. They seem to be pretty happy with the 77W, so i can see UA getting like 15-20 777-9Jump to post
maybe i should have asked which one was most comfortable and passenger friendly.!! That makes it a more interesting question. While 1-2-1 is the current gold standard in this regard for J, the need for airlines to still put as many people as possible in the cabin means that most of those fly in a (...Jump to post
50 Polaris seats on the 772! How many are there on the 77W? I have flown in the Polaris seat and think it's great, especially the forward facing seat with 3 or 4 windows. If they get J fares for those 50 seats they will make a lot of money on those 772s. It does seem like the Polaris 767 is the way...Jump to post
