Saw on Twitter from a reporter, that Southern may move to the main terminal in the future. Only way that makes sense is if Southern is looking into bigger planes? Can't imagine them wanting to have their passengers go through TSA if they don't need to. True, but on the other hand the FBO may not ha...Jump to post

Has anyone seen any of the loads so far for the new DY LGW route?
Also curious as toe FI buyout of WW and its implications for TPA. IMO I think they slowly end the WW product, but chance they could supplement FI to WW with the A321NEO? Hopefully not.
There was a Tampa Bay Business Journal article fairly recently, that named both ABQ and SAT as F9 future expansion.
As for Airside B, no idea about the sort facility and what could be done there, but I'm not even sure if the TPA main terminal could support a 6th airside, capacity wise.
^^ To compete head to head with G4 and most likely lose any business traffic they see from TPA? Doubtful. Didn't F9 try PIE before? I would love to see F9 try Caribbean/Central America routes from TPA. I think there is potential there. MCO is chocked full with NK/WN/B6 as is FLL. If F9 ever thinks t...Jump to post
Thanks for finishing that F9LASDEN. Expansion makes sense, will be interesting to see what they come up with. Based off those times, looks like maybe at most 3 gates would be in use. ATL has been on the dropdown menu from TPA for some time. A majority of the routes from MCO could be potential option...Jump to post
So for the 3 day 'new route start week', F9 will fly the following daily departures: 15th (Thursday): 10 (CVG,CLE,DEN,LAS,PHL,CLT,ORD,GRR,SYR,TTN) 16th (Friday): 12 (BUF,CLE,DEN,GSP,LAS,ISP,PHL,PVD,ORD,MKE,MSP,TTN) 17th (Saturday): 12 (BUF,CLE,DEN,LAS,ISP,PHL,PVD,ORD,MKE,MSP,ORF,PWM,SYR) I didn't lo...Jump to post
It is believed F9 will use 71-75 at E. Wouldn't be shocked if Air Canada and Westjet ultimately go to F at some point. I believe Swoop has to use F because Hamilton is not a pre clear airport. WOW. 5 gates is quite the increase. Either they have some expansion in mind or their gate utilization is c...Jump to post
Swoop uses F oddly enough. FI does depart from E, Gate 75 I think. AA I think only RON's planes at E gates, presumably to cut the tug time back to F. F9 was using up to 3 gates over at C, so maybe they have 72-75 at E now? In between AC, WS and FI use of those gates? I would think someone would have...Jump to post
I wonder what other routes, Contour can/would add? JAX? SAV? Looking forward to Norwegian's arrival on Wednesday! SY starts BNA and STL this week too. Bummed the Norwegian 789 will only be in town in nighttime hours. Will this be the first 787 to ever visit TPA? Fairly recently-ish a Norwegian 787 ...Jump to post
Yeah that was my second guess. Makes sense.
Murdoughnut - Didn't think of that, not sure if anymore 'boutique' airlines will come to TPA, but if more do could maybe see them trying a 'boutique' area where Signature is, but not sure if it would make sense to staff TSA checkpoint there or not.
With Southern launching from the GA side of the airport, I wouldn't be too surprised to see maybe Contour over there too? Septembers numbers are out and they are massive: September total PAX saw 279,452 increase from 2017. Last year was Hurricane Irma so played a small role in that increase, but not...Jump to post
Southern Airways Express is launching TPA-PBI flights 11/8. 3-4x daily. Offsets the 3M drop just a little bit. Could also seem them expand into the JAX market too. Southern Airways Express said Tuesday it will launch air service between Tampa and West Palm Beach on Nov. 8, just three days after anot...Jump to post
Wonder where Contour will gate at? Silver Airways gate area? New airline announced today, Contour Airlines to Macon, GA. More of a 'charter' type of routing to me, but an airline nonetheless. Will be flown on 30 seat Embraer regional jets. No idea what's in Macon, just seems like a odd route. Quote:...Jump to post
One route I see that is missing from the opening post or this thread is AA launching DFW-HRL, that puts them into all 3 Rio Grande Valley airports.

LGSTX is leasing 12.5 sq. ft. more of cargo building space at TPA. Amazon has spurned TPA to go ahead with expanding cargo Ops, nothing of detail yet, but they have hinted at it and one would presume expanding the old cargo apron, reconnecting it to the taxiway and moving aircraft parking there away...Jump to post
So far seeing for sure MCO/DEN from BTV on F9Jump to post
Admittedly, it has been a handful of years since I followed BTV closely, but how is the gate situation? I know they have plenty of 'gates', but the seating always seems to be tight. Now that they have mainline from multiple carriers, that has to be even more tighter. Any new service is only going to...Jump to post
BTV has an announcement 10:00am on Wednesday, could be F9 or maybe reintroduction of a Florida P2P route.
My bet is F9
^^ It does, actually a handful of cities are seeing the end of the lengthy RON. New MCI schedule: Reykjavik Keflavik – Kansas City eff 24MAY19 Summer seasonal service resumes in 2019 with the addition of 4th weekly flight. 737 MAX 8 replaces 757-200. Schedule revision for Kansas City departure, as t...Jump to post
Speaking of diversions and BTV, it's honestly kind of surprising how little diversions BTV gets in general, mainly weather diversions from the likes of YUL, BOS, BDL, PVD, NYC. Seems like when it's major weather it's just 'small' enough that it leaves better alternatives like ALB or PWM or MHT or BD...Jump to post
I wish TPA the best of luck with this service, but I have my doubts. The lion’s of traffic to Europe is to the UK; traffic beyond the UK has plenty of seasonal fluctuations. I’d be surprised if TPA could support two, full service carriers, in addition to the LCC and various charter flights). Only a...Jump to post
Some interesting tidbits from the Tampa Bay Times article. Mainly the 1.2 million dollar incentive for 2 years and the # of Delta SkyMiles and Medallion's. "To land the Amsterdam flight, the airport will provide an estimated $1.2 million in incentives to Delta. That includes $847,880 in waived ...Jump to post
Looks like Vacation Express via SwiftAir is in fact bring back PUJ. Resumes 5/24/19 and runs through 7/26/19.
Crap, they also just followed DUB Airport Twitter right after I posted this. Maybe they trying to throw us off the scent, but AMS did come first. EDIT - And now BOG and AerLingus. They for sure have a social media person reading this thread who saw the AMS Twitter post and now are just following all...Jump to post
I find it interesting how they'll get into MCO as opposed to SFB. It'll be interesting to see how they do in US leisure markets. Yet chose PIE over TPA. Less of a parallel, but I was mildly surprised to see MIA over FLL. Yeah I found that odd, my only guess is PIE offered perhaps more of an incenti...Jump to post
