The new branding was promised for over a year. Nothing ever happened. I'd speculate about something like "Lufthansa Discover" or "Discover by Lufthansa" being the final intended branding. Could the dispute be about using Lufthansa name or logo elements for discover? LH have a tr...
Jump to postThere 's a piece in Flight this week (behind paywall) talking about possible further acquisitions of short- and medium-range freighters. One would have thought this might mean A321 and A333 conversions respectively, as the heading says "no new widebodies". I can't see them going for 767s ...

Jump to postSurprised Lufthansa dragged their feet on the A350s that were available from SU and Qatar.. Don't know how many are left after the TK and pending AI deals.. At the very least they could have placed them with Swiss so they could retire their A340s. Bringing in 777Ws makes little since at these high ...
Jump to postI think the A380 is more likely than fresh 77Ws… Don´t think so...A380 would be a logistal nightmare and a stand alone type. 77W could be operate with 787s, 777-900s as well as the LH Cargo and Swiss. If the price is right I think from a business point of view 77W make more sense for LH than a coup...
Jump to postWell, I guess it would be more expensive the maintain the engines of a small subfleet of 4/6 A380s while I have a pool of 777s with Aerologic, LH Cargo and Swiss.....
Jump to post77W is still more efficient than the A380 today if you don't get a full cabin on the Whale Jet. Reactivating the A380 from deep storage takes 8-10 weeks, they would be back at the very end of the summer season at the earliest. So this is useless and not realistic. Agree, also the A380 would need a ...

Happy 2022 to all of you here, just wanted to ask if there is any news on the 787s?
Jump to postAero.de reports that the A220s - if ordered . would be part of Cityline. that would make tremendous sense IMO, so are we looking at 220-100s? Cityline operates A319s too, so I guess -300s would be the most logical. A221s would be a surprise, but LH is known for surprise orders sometimes ;) I think ...

B744 D-ABVU and D-ABVZ are on their way to XMN for maintenance right now. Seems to act as a reminder that there are lots of international MROs that can do 744 maintenance at low prices, A380 less so. Jump to postAs to the reason why LH brings back the 744 and not the A380. For their A32x fleet LH group has introduced standardized seats. Part of the idea of homogenous seating is in part due to the transferring of aircraft between individual parts of Lufthansa Group. Jump to postGiven Swiss has just announced they are retrofitting all their B77Ws with premium economy I’d say that is doubtful.
