Re: American Eagle News and Discussion - 2024

Good news: Piedmont just picked up a bunch of new planes
Bad news: They're not going to fly

Seems Envoy just dumped a bunch of their parked E145s on Piedmont's door. Not all of them, but a fair share. Makes sense for PDT to be looking after them instead of Envoy.

Re: American Eagle News and Discussion - 2024

It was a new delivery from Embraer. I was just curious on the “BS” registration. I’m not that close to it but seemed odd to me. Envoy has been using seemingly random combinations of letters for the last handful of registrations. They were using initials of key Envoy folks for a while (example RN fo...

I think that Embrear E-types are no longer an option for Hawaiian: Aurigny will sell its E-195 due to too high maintenance costs and too low reliability. Re: Ural Airlines A320 emergency landing in a field in Siberia due to hydraulic problems

The airline was claiming that they would be waiting for the ground to become rock-solid. Right now, they are having temperatures in between -10 and -20 centigrade, and, I believe, it has been freezing there for more than a month. Just because the top layer is frozen doesn't mean it's "safe&quo...

Looking at their stock today, looks like they had quite the jump in price. All airlines had some growth today, but Mesa seems to have been the largest at over 26%. I can't really find a good reason for this.

A lot of airlines that painted their wings dark like that don't do it anymore. Likely for cost/weight savings. Darker paint = thicker coat = more weight. When Southwest had their 737-300s in the desert gold scheme, they had the darker wing paint. When they went to canyon blue they switch to the ligh...
