Re: Lion Air 737MAX8 Crashed Jakarta to Pangal Pinang

I would like to ask a question again. Did the pilot make a distress call? Yes they did. And finally another question. Did anyone notice if there had been a tentative to turn back to Jakarta? Yes, apparently they contacted ATC to return to the other airport in Jakarta, HLP. After that call, contact ...

I do prefer aisle myself but only on long hauls unless there are solo seats compared to you 787 flight.

Having listened to many pieces of the Red Army Choir, I feel sad. :frown: Wasn't there a mid-air collision of a German military transport aircraft (an Ilyushin or a Tupolev) once, with a military band on board? Re: Russia Grounds Sukhoi Superjet Over Safety Concerns

Is it just one a/c? Because if so it doesn't seem to be a problem with the type, but with the unit. Metal fatigue is a very serious issue. It caused a lot of crashes in the past, think e.g. about the Comet. They can clearly not be sure enough that it just belongs to one particular frame, hence they...

City Jet is in the process of acquiring SSJ's to replace their RJ 85's. No. The SSJ is not to replace their RJ85 at first. Because the SSJ is not certified to fly out of LCY, Cityjet will keep the RJ85. SSJ's are used for charter and adhoc operations, or lease-out to other airlines (such as operati...

Don't forget to add a lot of $$$ for ATC-services. And ATC is based on MTOW, so the A380 is not cheap to operate. This will probably another $10000-15000 per oneway flight on that sector.

Bare metal is pretty (CX had their Silver Bullet freighters) but it does mean a lot of upkeep to keep it shiny. Japan Airlines was earlier with the bare metal on some of it's freighters.
