I'm confused I came here expecting to see a count of airraft orders but cannot find a list ?
has anyone got an up to date listing of Boieing orders?
When you look back engines have usually always been the main cause of delays. Its the nature of the beast And the most technical part. However once sorted and finely tuned that engine will bring in money for many years to come. The RB211 was about 40 years viper 50 years and still on wing plus the P...

Has Airbus just added a press conference for Thursday?
Order will be for 12 A350 and 12 B787
Jump to postI think the 'front' discussed here was that they ran freight at night after removing passenger seating etc. You can look up Dart Group for anything else.
Jump to postAll airlines want the lowest price and keep on haggling till they get it, sort of like Ryan air. DL is no different.[/quote] A true story When Laker Airlines was buying some new BAC 1-11's Freddie Laker had a meeting with the CEO of BAC.He asked if he could get them any cheaper. The answer was no so...
Jump to postIsn't it just cheaper to pay more in Amsterdam?
Jump to postThis has been in Basle for nearly 10 years. Supposedly owned by the Bank of Utah. I'm guessing the Saudi's have paid a huge amount of cash here? Does anyone know if it was fitted out? Storage costs alone must be equal to the value of the aircraft?
Jump to postThis is what happens when you save money by sending your IT to India. It costs you more in the end.
Jump to postI watched an Air crash investigation last night and it was an Aeroflot B737. The pilot was drunk. Surprise surprise. The investigators though were amazed when all the servicing records arrived. Apparently they were not stored by Aeroflot but an independent company called ' Bureau Veritas' Could this...
Jump to postI started as an engine technician. I can take a jet engine to bits and rebuild it then test it on a test bed, plus diagnose problems. Being UK based I started to see that rail engineers were making more money on very little training. Then I began to see how little training aircraft mechanics were ge...
Jump to postI've just seen this on Facebook. Anyone know anything about this? Abu Dhabi Airport Suspends Flights! Jump to postA lot of contracts are signed under English law because it is seen as the best legal system in the world. So all kinds of countries especially in some wonderful places use it when dealing with contracts such as buidling dams, buildings etc. Its why London has so many law firms.
Jump to postAutomation didn't save the Gimli Glider. It was very finely attuned piloting skills that saved lives
Jump to postI have worked in the ME and seen at first hand just how the culture is. I've seen people leave a switch in the wrong position thus embarraasing the next pilot when something hasn't worked etc. They've been immediately terminated and sent home that night. The term was 'runwayed' Its all about face.
Jump to postIf Qatar are not ging to accept any further Airbus deliveries due to their 'spat' Is the reason due to the A380? I seem to recall AIrbus making some sales where they gauranteed to buy back aircraft after a period of time. Was the A380 one such deal? Are Qatar trying to shove them back to Airbus in t...
Jump to postOne of the reasons for Concordes demise was that Air France were closing down operations and BA would have had to pay Airbus £50m a year for support. It was just not economical for BA. This could be similar?

I was in the Engine bay at DHA and used to hang out behind the testbed watching the show.
Icelandair is probably the very best example. I was there several years ago waiting for a connecting flight. A lorry pulled up alongside a 757 then a forklift truck removed a pallet of white boxes containing frozen fish took them to the forward conveyor belt before returning to the lorry and taking ...

Jump to postIts actually true. I worked at a flight simulator company which supplies lots of cabin trainers to China. Jump to postI'm interested in what now happens to the Gatwick slots. If they were mortgaged which bank now owns them and will they ever manage to sell them? Basically they are now worthless.
Jump to postI visited TLS last summer and was really surprised by the large number of aircraft in TP colours. I then looked up what they had ordered and was again surprised. My thoughts were how can they possibly be buying all these A330's? Portugal has a very small economy so even the Government would struggle...
Jump to postApparently the Govt has told Richard Branson its down to him to sort out, no they are not helping him out.
Jump to postThe reason no one will buy VS is bacause there are no assets and the debt pile is £1.5bn. It will go into receivership and then possibly emerge with a few less aircraft and routes if a buyer can be found. Branson and Delta will lose everything.
Jump to postI am surprised, that not already many more airlines have taken the opportunity, to cancel a part or the full number of ordered B737 MAX jets. They are far behind production schedule, they will be likely two years behind. Airlines shall have the chance to cancel orders without penalty, getting back ...
Jump to postDubai airport and EK are 85% of the Dubai economy. Quite a staggering figure.
Jump to postI'm beginning to wonder why there is total silence from DL on VS. Could it possibly be that DL wants VS to fail? If so perhaps DL are looking to take over the USA bound slots and grab 100% of the profit rather than the current situation where they keep making losses.
Jump to postThere is a story in todays Sunday Times that BA are trying to avoid help because by doing so Virgin would not be able to access funding.
Jump to postIts a tricky casee this because IAG are very Spanish centric. Headquarters in Spain, Iberia, Iberia Express, Veulling and the purchase of Air Europa. Why should a Britsh tapayer support service in Spain?
Will it lead to a break up of IAG?
Boeing need to terminate the 737 and start working on a brand new design. As they should have done years ago. And which they could have done with a fraction of the money the Max fiasco has costed them so far. I've been saying this for months now. Boeing had the opportunity to design a new 737 when ...

Good news for the 737MAX is that airlines will not need the capacity and they will not rush out to buy the A320NEO
I've just flown from MAN to DXB. Outward journey with KLM, return journey with AF. Have to say it all worked very well. I see no reason for a split. Maybe from past reading the AF side has too many benefits compared to KLM but that's a management issue really.
Jump to postBoeing is fine for now but will be screwed if the FAA decide that an unstable passenger plane is an idea too far. Boeing should have bitten the bullet and gone for a complete redesign of the 737 yet it persists with the failed MAX.
Jump to postIn the UK you have the right to remove people from property. First though you have to ask them three times to leave the property. After that you have th right to use minimum force to eject them from said property. No argument. I should imagine an aircraft is counted as property.

I have just read in the Telegraph that HNA is $75bn in debt. How on earth does an airline accumulate that kind of debt?
I can now see mix mode runway use here. Its the obvious next route for LHR.
Jump to postYou would never use a A320neo as a Christmas tree. Yet that's exactly what they seem to be doing.
Jump to postEveryone is still assuming thats the MAX will be back. It might not. Boeing might be forced to do a complete redesign of the 737. Clearly an unstable MAX is not a good pssenger option. Boeing could do an all composite 737 and steal the market from Airbus but at the moment the management are head in ...

Jump to postIt still shocks m that Boeing have not imprved the 737 over all those years. Sure cosmetic changes and newere engines but seriously no fly by wire? Now to find that the crash survivability has not been improved to modern standars is just lazy or bad management chasing profit above all else. The 737 ...
Jump to postBoeing have to start making bold moves. It desperately needs a new 737. The MAX is not it. The MAX is unstable. Unstable aircraft crash. Its a fact. Boeing is currently wasting time not designing a new 737. It might just save them. If they persist with the MX it will sink them. One more crash will b...
