That wasn't by chance on July 6th was it? If so, I was on that E170 parked there, coming from DFW. I don't recall that it was that long of a diversion, perhaps an hour or so, but maybe I'm mis-remembering. I don't recall that we needed refueling or anything either, so there was no need for us...
Jump to postI diverted to KPUB in 2011 in an EMB-145. At the time, Great Lakes had a station there so they handled us and they even had a set of stairs for the -145. We didn't have an alternate, didn't need one technically but we started working it out when the thunderstorms popped up and we could see the need ...
Jump to postIt's been discussed here and there, but it hasn't rightfully gotten its own thread on here. I think the swoop does wonders for the livery and I hope that this is part of a new trend and they will eventually carry it out to all aircraft. I think even the ERJ-145 would look nifty with a swoop. It wou...

On a side note a year back we flew through IAH on a E135. First flight out of DSM on a clear day really should be a no excuse for late departure but we sat inside the terminal while they "warmed up the plane." Granted it was 5 degrees out but I've not heard of such a comment. Obviously it...

Jump to post3 degrees is kind of typical but it's not hard to pull off 4 degrees or even steeper if you have a good headwind. With a tailwind you'll want to keep closer to 3 degrees. The decent rate will depend on your ground speed. (i.e. your true airspeed plus or minus any headwind or tailwind). The decent ra...

Some of those projects are beyond sanity. For the money involved in building a Spain-Morocco bridge, you could probably operate a free high speed on-demand ferry service FOREVER if you set up an interest-earning trust fund.
A friend of mine held the coolest job I've ever heard of for a while--flying around the world to service video systems on cruise ships. Anyway, I found it funny how he substituted "of disease" for "of the Seas" on the RCCL ships. I don't think he held anything against them though.
