Per last agreement (2017) this is what India-UK carriers are entitled

LHR - DEL/BOM (each country can fly 56 flights per week)
LHR - BLR/HYD (each country can fly 14 flights per week)
LHR - MAA/CCU (unlimited)

All other cities in India and UK (non LHR) have unlimited access

BLR J pax market is skewed more towards foreign origin, if AI can attract this pax maybe they can launch couple long haul routes otherwise it is going to be mostly domestic and maybe few regional international routes nothing more.

The biggest bottleneck in major Indian airports, especially DEL, BOM and BLR is entering the airport itself. That often takes a long time and if you have checked luggage it is even more cumbersome. I think there are issues with the UK-India bilateral agreement regarding the number of permitted frequencies and BA is currently using up their entitlement.
