Does exactly what it says it does. Very impressive, and much better than I could achieve with clever and time consuming trickery with unsharp mask and curves.

Definitely will resurrect some old shots which had been spoiled by atmospheric conditions.

A lot of this is weather dependent - you've got miles of air between you and the subject - dust and humidity will seriously impact image quality.

What you need is cold, still air for best results - cold winter day, early morning is probably best.

Chuck Westfall has said there is no change to dynamic range. However I have read that colour rendition is improved.

On the one hand, I think 50mp is overkill for most uses. On the other hand, the extreme "croppability" makes the body a cheaper alternative to any of the Canon big white telephotos.

Photographically, the first is much better IMHO - follows the classic rule of thirds composition, and the aircraft has room to move. But that's not necessarily what A.net wants.
