Re: Air Berlin - Spectacular farewell: AB7001 MIA-DUS steep turn over terminal

Neat experience for folks on-board and in the terminal. A small gesture, but will be remembered by many. Off topic a bit... In the second video (the one from the tower), the controller seems to be speaking with an Austrian Airlines plane in the background and speaking in German. Is this normal for ...

There was a list buried somewhere on LCYs site. Basically, has to be multi-engined and certified for approaches greater than 5.5'. No single engine, no helos. You're probably referring to this list: https://www.londoncityairport.com/downloads/LCY42279_PURE_A4_Types%20of%20Aircraft-Concessions_2011%...

Well, considering the packs are basically the cabin airconditioning, your (virtual) passengers would probably appreciate it if you keep them on until you're connected to ground power.

Airport fire services regularly respond to nearby, but off-airport fires. There is some spare capacity anyway (otherwise a single deployment would mean closing the airport for all other flights) so sending one or even two trucks shouldn't affect airport operations.

I was on one in September: they are indeed old and rundown if you ask me. And yes, PHX is an exclusively non-refurb 747 route as far as I'm aware. The economy product is horribly outdated, IFE screen is low resolution and tiny. Others I have spoken that have been on these aircraft mostly agree with ...

Well, I am not an expert on this, but this is my view on it: From what I understand, these subsidiaries are pretty much separate airlines that happen to carry the same colours as the parent (PAX) airline, aside from some management/office jobs that can be combined. The last years, the cargo market h...
