You'd literally have to buy a ticket to Australia to be able to do this. Which is hundreds if not thousands of dollars more (depending on class purchased) than a simple NYC - LAX ticket. Perhaps another reason why BA does not serve Charlotte is that the metro area has a relatively small population compared to other AA hub cities.

Another factor that might contribute to SW not flying to places like Rapid City and Fargo is that Allegiant already provides service to those cities to and from Phoenix and Las Vegas.

I was just reading an article about Denver International Airport and in the article it mentioned that runway 16R/34L is 16,000 feet long. Do any flights out of DIA use the full length of this runway especially when the weather is warm?

LAX-MCI and LGA-MCI date back to TWA. I get the feeling that every since AA decided to close the old TWA maintenance base, MCI has just become a spoke served by ORD and DFW. I assumed he hit the 56 year mark. Has there been any discussion within the FAA of extending the mandatory retirement by say 5 years? People are living longer and staying in better health so it seems like 55 is a bit young to require a controller to retire.
