Quick question for y'all as I head home:
Was there a reason given on the AA 3193 (ORD-OKC) diversion to PWA?
I'm currently waiting on UA 4170 that's been delayed for flow control reasons into ORD. Everyone's having bad delays today, but AA seems to be in a very bad way.

Is every LCC going to have an offshoot in Austria? If the taxes there are so low that everyone wants to be there then we should all move in. Easyjet used the good old Brexit excuse for opening there, what reason does a Spanish airline have?? that's like asking why red bull an Austrian company is se...
Jump to postWhen will this era of accountant-driven capitalism evolve into something more enlightened? What would that be? Jump to postGiven WMATA's record on maintenance, do you want to bet these panels get treated every ten years? They might, but if/when they do, you can bet that they'll be single-tracking for about a year to complete it. Given WMATA's record, I don't even expect those 180 bad panels to get swapped out. So more ...

Quick question:
What's the 744(?) doing over by the JPATS/Federal Transfer Center ramp? It looks like it's ex-World Airlines (WO)?
I could just barely see it when we were taxing to 13L this morning.
While only about 180 panels apparently need replacement, the remaining 1500 can be treated every ten years. While that's far less than ideal, particularly considering one would expect to get their money's worth on a new project, at least it would keep the project completion on target. Given WMATA's...
Jump to postMany of the concrete panels for the Metro extension were poorly manufactured. There are 2000 issues now requiring repair. Would it not make more sense, despite any additional delays, to just demand the subcontractor replace them? This speaks incredibly poorly to WMATA and MWAA's oversight. https://w...

I don't think you'll get much argument that he was even more awful for new UA than he was for old CO. But at the same time, people seem to forget that a CEO doesn't single-handedly run an airline. Take the current UA. I think Oscar seems like the right guy for that job. And yet UA is still a pretty...
Jump to postYou could put some of the big names into Archive.org and see what pops up. Someone ages ago put a link to the old British Airways website. Going to that was a shock! Jump to postI remember that I was in Sydney a few years back and I saw a Lufthansa Group office in the CBD. Jump to postFor what it's s worth I think Amazon locates its HQ2 headquarters to NOVA. The area is booming, there is highly educated population, and there is excellent infrastructure. Jump to postHopefully this would be the impetus needed to get UA and MWAA to finally build a new permanent concourse C/D. I hope so, though I thought they were already in talks on that? Jump to postHi all: It's a fact that the CR2 is rapidly approaching the end of its life as the frame, gear, etc. just weren't originally designed for a regional jet with high cycles. I did find it interesting that Oklahoma and Texas Tech flew WN instead of one of the 'preferred' NCAA charter carriers like SY or LL (or, for that matter, G4, as was the case with Iona). As I understand it, teams typically will book charter flights via the NCAA's official travel agency, but, as I s...

Jump to postI was looking at a map of TBIT earlier, and after hearing so many complaints about the size of the headhouse, security, etc.: are they planning to build it out some? Even if it costs a gate or two?
Jump to postWhy? Southern NRW is well served by FRA, it's less than an hour from Köln to FRA.
In addition, much of DUS was rebuilt after the fire at considerable expense. I doubt there is little if any political will to solve an altogether insignificant problem (if it's a problem at all)
I think these numbers are just so good, because of the bankruptcy of Air Berlin and NIKI. But AUA is lucky that IAG (Vueling) didn't get the planes and slots of AB ...
