I believe so, considering the chances of having a new runway at LHR or a new airport in London in this century. Using larger aircraft is the only way to free slots and open new destinations.

I was in Sydney on Australia Day a couple of years ago and part of the celebrations was an A380 flyover. The plane was so quiet that many people didn't raise notice it and didn't raise their eyes to the sky during the performance.
