Only reason is because Lebanon has not signed The opens skies agreement with the EU. Jordan Israel Morroco to name a few have.. Otherwise easyjet for instance would have started dailies from CDG Flights from FCO Bergamo Athens GVA and maybe more .. RYANAir as well.. transavia (France and NL) operare...

Little known fact is BEY is actually slightly busier than AMM despite Jordan's greater political stability and greater connectivity options on RJ. Yet AMM has flights to JFK, DTW, ORD, and YUL. Hope LH will upgrade their BEY offering into lh product instead of the lousy A321 cabin they offer. Something similar to the AF product. Or at least an in between like the BA A321 service to BEY.

There Is no security breach! This is the Schengen area. All pax gi through security, and screened thoroughly. Pax entering from non SCHENGEN zone go through a rigid passport control, followed by security.
Showing ID at the gate is futile, security wise will only make the boarding procedure slower.
