Does anyone with knowledge of the HAS know if Mario Diaz has tried to recruit another Latin American carrier to serve IAH? I could see either AV or LA trying to connect IAH with their hubs in BOG or SCL. Currently, if you don't fly UA to South America, you are flying to MIA, or back-tracking to DFW...Jump to post
Looks like Avianca could start its own IAH-BOG flight(It has been rumored here before), and hopefully UA will add IAH-CLO/ Medellin, and maybe Cali.Jump to post
Surprised that IAH made it to #4, I wonder if this is due to UA’s rebanking of the hub.Jump to post

Looks like IAH is driving growth in UA’s network.

More good news for UA and IAH.
From what I can see, loads look to be around ~61% so far.......not the best Maybe a few one-off flights, but overall average loads are much much stronger than that. Well this is the rolling officially reported load factor data with the six month lag: JAN - 68.4% FEB - 59.0% MAR - 54.4% APR - 54.1% ...Jump to post

Terminal D expansion FINALLY moves forward.
Im not saying youre wrong, but you are speaking like someone who doesnt understand this market. Houston never recovered from the merger of UA and CO. CO was very beloved here and UA isnt nearly as much. Smisek did a lot of damage between the relationship of Houston and the airline. Its not what the...Jump to post

I know that IAH-SYD was started up back in January, However, I have a question on how the flight is performing. I have been checking the loads on the flight regularly and the loads have been variable from light to heavy. But there has been questions about the flight's sustainability on other forums....Jump to post

Update on Terminal D Project:
https://www.houstonchronicle.com/busine ... 228403.php
Took a stroll through Terminal D the other day. Only activity I saw was renovations on the bathrooms. Looks like they're just stalling for time at this point. Yeah, and when I taxied by the old C North last week, it doesn't look like any demo work has been done, in fact UA seems to be storing some ...Jump to post
IAH-CDG did good during COs Skyteam days (for obvious reasons). But it still came to a shock for me and others when UA dumped it. Youd think there would be good feed from Latin America to CDG. Actually that isn’t accurate. IAH-CDG was always the weakest link in COs IAH-Europe network. For some reas...Jump to post

I am certain that they could find good use for 4 more 77Ws and fill them. I think Sydney and Singapore need the seat to be competitive. And after being on a refitted 767 (which I thought was beautiful), it will be interesting to see how tight a Polaris cabin will be on a 787. I wonder how many Pola...Jump to post
Any updates whether this could affect IAH-SYD, is it possible that UA would axe it to add in a 2nd daily SFO-SYD?Jump to post
Looks like Spirit will be adding Guatemala City out of IAH and will be returning to San Salvador. Interesting incursion into the UA territory ! UA IAH-GUA is 17x weekly and UA IAH-SAL is 14x weekly. AV SAL-IAH is also grabbing a piece of the cake at San Salvador International. NK comes with limited...Jump to post

I suspect that Gap will get smaller within the next 2 years. As IAH will see growth.
ORD is seeing significant growth as well. UA numbers are way up.
Was looking at O&D statistics in connection with WN's announcement of once-weekly (hurrah!) HOU-PHL. It's conventional wisdom that the oil boom greatly benefited the Houston travel market and the bust greatly harmed it, but, believe it or not, the market still grew during each year of the bust,...Jump to post
At a recent event in Houston, Scott Kirby told attendees in the coming years UA could add new nonstop service to 20 new cities from IAH including international destinations. He also stated UA is growing IAH and expects to hit 700 flights a day up from 540 although no time frame was given for when w...Jump to post

I haven’t heard any news nor rumors, which is really weird and concerning. Construction on MLIT was supposed to start in the first months of this year. It’s now April and no news of it commencing.
