I've been wondering, when an a/c departs, is it obligated, either by law, custom, or regulation, to be fully fueled, or are they allowed to leave with the amount of fuel necessary, plus maybe a certain contingency factor? California Senator Diane Feinstein advocated the same idea for U.S. domestic flights a about a year ago...it fizzled out very quickly (due in large part to lobbying by the alcohol industry I suspect). I imagine this idea will go to the same place.

I'm sure there's probably no prohibition, per se, for bringing a scanner but why would you ever want to draw this kind of attention to yourself in this day and age. It's just something to give them reason to scrutinize you much, much closer. I would also recommend you check-it.

Interesting...that would be great! The only comment I would make regarding this is that KLM's logo is omnipresent--even in smalltown NW destinations such as Paduach, KY, Rochester, MN, and Mason City, IA...certainly nowhere near candidate cities for new KLM routes.

I've flown them several times and I would agree, the A seats are the best but only if the flight is full. If the flight is not full, you can stretch out on the right side of the a/c with two seats. Having some liquid refreshments before the flight is always a good option as well!

Large quantities of an adult beverage of your choice before the flight and you'll sleep soundly. That's what I do when I go to Asia. I hate being conscious for 12 hours sitting in a tiny little seat. Of course, this is not to imply this would be appropriate for everyone, it's not.

NW has a "million miler" (actual flight miles) membership but I'm not sure what it exactly entails--I've heard silver elite membership for life, regardless of annual mileage flown. I'd be interested in any other information about this too.

I would say ICN (Seoul), not only being brand new but also just extremely aesthetically appealling with all the glass. Kimpo was in pretty bad shape. As of now, DTW would get my vote as being the dirtiest but as we all know, it's being replaced very soon.

Actually it just occurred to me, yes, when I was at Kimpo, I had to put away my camera. They have police all over the place and don't allow photography--undoubtedly due to their unfriendly neghbors to the north.

NW has three, literally within 5 minutes of each other, at Tokyo Narita. If memory serves correct, I believe they're called the Akane, the Akebono, and the Azuma.

If you go to the travel page on CNN and look at the section where they profile different airports, you'll see MSP as one of them. They've only proflied a few so far < 10. I'm pretty sure they weren't limiting it to the U.S. but I could be wrong.
