During a post major winter storm years ago, I flew a JetBlue flight operated by a North American Airlines 757 to Florida because they needed the extra lift. It can and has been done... if the airline wants to!

AA MIA to ZSA is basically the Club Med charter for Columbus Isle. Great resort, although last time we were there we flew NK FLL-ZSA. Unlike normal NK flights, drinks included!

Interestingly, at least it was this way a few years ago, the ZSA Spirit flights were not treated like a normal flight service wise. No extra charge for baggage and free drinks.
