I flew on QF in 1986 in Y and it was wonderful. the food was great and the portions were big; crews very friendly and seats very comfortable.
A chocolate chip cookie for desert on a looooong flight is not too impressive.

I am a "pessimist by nature" so when I book a flight or a hotel through Expedia etc, I call the airline and the hotel directly to see that everything is in order in their computer. After reading your story that is the first thing I will do. I hope Expedia refunds you every penny.

Nice story. I flew on Eastern to Mexico City on a B727 from La Guardia with a stop in Atlanta and it was exhausting. The return from Acapulco on a Lockheed 1011 was a lot better. I was never crazy about them though. But they were efficient.

One of the nicest flights I ever took was on Air Santo Domingo on a Czech plane. It was from a small grass airport (forgot the name) to Puerto Plata.
Unfortunately they stopped operating. I remember the 727s of Dominicana de Aviacion. They were unable to compete against the big US airlines.
